I'm quite certain Phileas Fogg sounded like this. Nearly did me in...the prissy-ness. But it was a great story. Crossing it off my reading bucket list!

Annoying, but true-to-character narrator voice

Fantastic story and narration

I loved this book. I bought a bunch of the "classics" and this is one I feel I got more than my money's worth. I thought the story was quite entertaining, and certainly reflective of the views of the time. I loved the narration too! All the different voices are hard for a single narrator, but this one was up to the task. I could tell who was talking, and it made sense along the way.

I really enjoyed the references to traveling across the US via train. I have been to the train depot in Ogden, I really thought the book was well researched (enough of the things I could relate to, anyway). I would recommend this book, and I would give the audio version as a gift.

Any additional comments?

I read this book as a boy and enjoyed it very much. (As I did the David Niven/Cantinflas film). And I strongly recommend you give it a listen because it still is an absolute delight. Verne's story is considered a classic, and rightly so. He makes a little fun of the English, and many others along the way, as he relates the story of the unflappable Fogg. Frederick Davidson does an outstanding job of narration (and I've gripped about him in other books) and keeps the story going strong all the way through. If, like me, you've read this book before, then reacquaint yourself with it now, and if you are unfamiliar with it give it a try. You'll be glad you did. Rick.

A world of delight

The different accents were spoken beautifully. I had no difficulty discerning which of the many characters was speaking. Even my four children age 8 and under enjoyed this classic work. What a wonderful
story! Exceptional!

I really enjoyed this book. It has been one of the most happiest enjoyable books that Jules Verne has written.
