But the aggravating Miss Woodforde refuses to leave the investigation to him. As she meddles in the hunt for her father’s killer, Ethan worries for her safety as her efforts to find the killer bring her closer to danger. Can he protect her from the traitor? For that matter, can he protect his heart from succumbing to her charms?
An Unwanted Alliance is a standalone Regency romance, the fifth in the series "Regency Spies to the Rescue" that can be read in no particular order.

Enjoyed the intrigue
Story was very good. After the introduction stated it was AI read I almost didn’t listen but wanted the story from the storyline. The AI was horrible I don’t think the audible books are ready for AI. So many mis-spoken words it was frustrating at times to continue but still enjoyed the story and characters

narration.. give me human voice
computer voice was boring. It out me to sleep. Many words were incorrectly pronounced. Give me a human narrator any time.

The poor AI reading
The AI reading had inflection but NO emotion. How can you read a love story with a ordered cadence? I will never listen to another AI spoken book.
