About this listen

The Age of Expansion dawns, but will humanity rise or shatter beneath its weight?

Matt's journey from desperate survivor to Dungeon Lord has forged him in blood and terror. With the Coronaught Queen vanquished and his domain flourishing, the days of scavenging scraps are over. But as his towers pierce the sky and his followers multiply, the drums of war beat ever louder.

Far to the south, an undead horde swells, their relentless march spanning continents. As Matt races to unlock the true potential of his abilities, rival dungeons declare their allegiances, not all siding with the living. The line between ally and enemy blurs, and every decision exacts a toll.

Now, Matt must transcend mere leadership. To shield his people from the coming storm, he must become something more—a beacon of hope, a force of nature, perhaps even a god in truth. But in a world where loyalty splinters like glass, how much of his humanity is he willing to sacrifice?

Step into the Age of Expansion, where every triumph balances on a knife's edge, and the fate of humanity hangs in the balance. Will Matt's dungeon become the stronghold of humanity's last hope, or just another tomb in a world of the undead?

Amazing

Another awesome book. The story keep getting better and the battles are the best. I recommend this entire series.

Can’t wait for the next book

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book and look forward to the next one. The right amount of action, fun, growth, teamwork and girl power.

Engaging as always but not as good as earlier books.

I enjoyed listening to this book on the whole, but there were some pretty annoying writing flaws in it. They are somewhat reminiscent of Cajiao’s lesser series or some of Eric Uglands numerous offenses. In this I’m referring to main characters who aren’t necessarily geniuses but are definitely capable of logical thoughts making completely unbelievable mistakes or oversights, which also just so happen to increase the drama of a boss fight. Also, having the overpowered (and in this case Godly) MC get totally wrecked by a minor enemy in the middle of (you guessed it) a boss fight with no explanation for how or why this would happen. But of course it is because of this rock-bottom moment that the plot armor which has been waiting in the wings has an opportunity to elevate the OP MC to even higher ascendency.

I hate it when reviewers use the term lazy writing as I don’t think you can be truly lazy and write a 20+ hour book. But in this case I’m very tempted. I feel like Cajiao needs to get some better beta-readers or start listening to their criticisms if they pointed out these clearly flawed plot devices.

Regardless, in spite of my complaints I would still say it’s worth the credit, but I’m just a bit disappointed that this book didn’t match the quality of the previous installments.

Another so soon

Having two new books back to back, and a third coming soon is incredible. The story is already amazing but it just keeps coming with more!
Genuinely excited for the next to come

Better but pace vs Scope won't make it

The scope always very ambitious and even if he has like an 18 book contract it still probably won't fit satisfactorily.

Much better feeling from the MC, someone with god tier powers really shouldn't be scraping as much as earlier but now he is flexing & delegating appropriately. I also like how he doesn't just do whatever his supporters suggest any more. Chef kiss on how you get to see the larger pantheon elements being foreshadowed!
Let's goooo next one is much sooner then I expected to come out :D

Gods are among us

Really appreciate the plot filled story but feel like the pacing was on a high all the way up until the end. Never got to truly find a moment to appreciate the developments and closing of events as the next events were thrust into action nearly right after the previous ones. As another reviewer said as well, I was a bit out of sorts when Matt who is a god got smacked around so easily by side characters, and made some rough decisions that lead to boss fights getting that much tougher. Looking forward to hearing more settlement building, training arcs be brought in, and delving deeper into relationships. Really enjoyed the development of Emma and her sister towards the end and look forward to seeing how that transpires into the next books. The world building in these books are pretty incredible and truly stand out to me. Thank you to both the author Jez Cajiao and the reader Neil Hellegers for another banger of a performance!!

decent step forward

I enjoyed it but it was long in the tooth for what was accomplished. andy main complaint about the whole series hasn't really gone anywhere. everyone dismisses and drags Matt thru the mud. it's time the man got some respect and I hope he takes it for himself the next book.

there doesn’t have to be a sexual reference

Seriously this is been a problem since the beginning of the series that I thought we might get past, there doesn’t have to be a sexual reference in every single chapter. It’s cringe and it takes away from the story. I am invested in this story, I really am I like the world, the characters, the magic system, I like all of this, but in the majority of chapters in every book there’s a sexual reference, sexual reference that’s fine every now and then but not in practically every chapter, quite frankly, Its starting to get to the point where it’s lazy writing I believe the author can do better than that and not use a cheap sexual reference as a comp out,

It only took 7 books.

Look who is FINALLY using his brains? It only took 7 books.

Finally realizing that bullets will eventually run out, and you'll have to use your mana going forward. Everyone who is using it consistently will be at a massive advantage to all those who are not. They'll just be victims.

As for the MC. He is still a "Fortunate Fool" in my opinion. Wish some of those charisma points worked on the reader and made him more charming, but alas, he remains a Fortunate Fool. A fool that never realized he always had a simple solution to fights he finds himself in, and the reason he keeps getting messed up, is mostly do to the fact that he wasnt to place himself within arms reach! SMGDH. Its like you can't buy this guy a clue. Everyone keeps telling him, he is the "Dungeon Lord", if he dies, then all the progress they have been making, stops, and possibly dies with him. "STOP RUNNING TO THE FRONT OF THE ATTACK!"

SMGDH. He searches so hard to find a reason why he 'has to' go up there and swing his hammer or sword at the enem, when instead he should've been looking to understand his powers, and how it works and all it can do, and everything it is connected to, and that way, he would've realized he didn't even need to be within a mile of the battle, and could've just annilathed all his foes with a sweep of his hand, just like he FINALLY realized he did here, and could've done all along. But instead he didn't want to use his brain, and wanted to smack everything with a hammer.

SMH. Sooooo frustrating.
