About this listen

Bloomsbury presents ADHD Unpacked, an essential guide to surviving and thriving with adult ADHD, written and read by Alex Conner and James Brown, the hosts of the hit ADHD podcast, The ADHD Adults.

This audiobook features an exclusive bonus episode of The ADHD Adults podcast.

'Essential reading' Tom Watson

Think you have ADHD and looking for help?
Recently diagnosed and thinking, what now?
Looking to support and understand an adult with ADHD in your life?

From the hosts of The ADHD Adults comes this accessible, authentic and unfiltered guide to understanding adult ADHD. You'll find science-backed facts on what ADHD actually is, how it shows up in everyday life, personal reflections (sometimes painful, often hilarious) and tips and tools for coping.

Join Alex and James as they walk you through ADHD myth-busters (it's not a trend, technology doesn't cause it and medication can be effective - 80% of people who take ADHD medication think so!), the long-held perceptions of ADHD (did you know that it was once known as 'a defect of moral control'?!), to why intention and emotion regulation disorder might be a better name for it.

ADHD Unpacked is the relatable, reassuring and downright funny handbook you need to survive and thrive with ADHD.

'A true gift to the community' Hana Walker Brown, author of A Delicate Game

'A deep dive into the science, understandings and misunderstandings of ADHD' Anita Bhagwandas, author of Ugly

Extremely educational, informative, thoughtful, and funny!

Read the title! Really here I wrote fifteen words. Or is this fifteen. Or this? How about this?

Best ADHD book I have ever had read to me

I discovered the guys & Mrs AuDHD and their podcast soon after I was diagnosed at 53. They present what living with ADHD is like warts and all and I will be forever grateful for showing me that I was not alone in what I was experiencing. This book is a brilliant, but less cursey, companion to the podcast and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to newly or oldly diagnosed/discovered ADHDers.
Cannot wait for the next one, please can it be before I die.
Love you guys and especially love the wild chaos of Mrs AuDHD.

Smart, Relatable, Real, and Funny

God, I love these two. Being a long-time listener of the podcast, this was hilariously tame (it was like listening to two of my favorite class clowns trying to keep from swearing and laughing during a job interview). As expected, James and Alex have delivered a great product that I'll keep referencing as I move forward with my own ADHD. Wonderful job, you two.

Fab. hilarious. bought the audiobook and five copies and will happily thrust (ding) all copies into the hands of friends and family. 10/10, this book ate and left no crumbs.
