Award-winning author, Terry Lewis, grew up in Perry, Florida and attended FSU for undergraduate studies and law school. He became a trial judge in 1989 and served for 30 years, presiding over a variety of criminal and civil cases, including such high-profile cases as the 2000 presidential election contest and the congressional redistricting case in 2012. He was heavily involved in judicial education during his time on the bench, serving as dean of the Florida College of Advanced Judicial Studies and faculty for numerous courses. He also served as an adjunct professor at F.S.U.’s College of Law for many years. He is now in private practice, focusing on mediation and arbitration. Terry’s first novel, Conflict of Interest, was published in 1997. He followed that with Privileged Information in 2003, and Delusional in 2013, all of which are legal thrillers set in Tallahassee and the surrounding area. Incognito, released in 2021, is an historical thriller set in Philadelphia in the summer of 1776 and revolves around a plot to assassinate key leaders of the Continental Congress. Incognito received book awards in three categories from the Florida Authors and Publishers Association. With Fast Break, his most recent novel, Terry returns to the legal thriller genre with a new protagonist, Kate Marston. Terry is a past board member of Mystery Writers of America, Florida Chapter and served on the advisory board for the Florida Book Awards.
