Lance K. Ewing is the author of the post-apocalyptic series Families First and Long Road Home. Renowned for crafting characters that mirror real-life individuals navigating suddenly altered worlds, Lance has earned a reputation for peeling back the layers of flawed, complex characters in his storytelling. He is also a five-time Kindle All-Star Award recipient. Raised at the base of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, Lance spent his youth exploring endless mountain ranges on a Honda XL-70 dirt bike with a recurve bow slung across his back—camping whenever the opportunity arose. Today, he lives in North Texas with his wife and their three sons—Hudson, Jax, and Hendrix—along with their pets: Ringo, Mini, and Bobo (two dogs and a cat). Of English, German, and Irish heritage, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his family whenever he's not working. In their free time, Lance and his wife love exploring the U.S. National Park system with their boys. Together, they’ve already visited nearly a quarter of all the parks. His literary influences include The Stand, The Road, One Second After, the Alex Cross series, and The Outsiders. His taste in film is equally broad, ranging from lighthearted comedies and coming-of-age classics like The Sandlot and Stand by Me to grittier, action-packed stories such as The Warriors, Rambo, and Surviving the Game. Kendall Ewing is the pen name of Lance K. Ewing, used for his work in coming-of-age fiction.
