Born in Tehran, Iran, in 1968, I was raised in the holy city of Mashhad, where the echoes of my Jewish heritage—etched in Hebrew on old buildings—intertwined with my love for Persian poetry from Hafez and Rumi, a passion that still burns brightly. At sixteen, I sold my racing bicycle to buy my first computer, sparking a lifelong devotion to technology. Admitted to Sharif University of Technology in Tehran for Applied Mathematics, I evaded the Iran-Iraq War’s frontlines through academic excellence. Between 1995 and 2000, I wrote, translated, and published over 30 books, along with essays and articles on computer science, history, and poetry. After enduring persecution by Iran’s Islamic regime, I sought refuge in the Pacific Northwest of the United States, where I now find solace in nature. My writing weaves together these threads—culture, technology, and the human spirit—inviting readers into a world of resilience and wonder.
