Ed Beverly III knows a thing or two about solving complex problems—and even more about helping others do the same. Over the past 25 years, he’s led teams, trained professionals, and guided organizations across industries like automotive finance, aerospace, and asset management to tackle their toughest operational challenges. From simplifying clunky systems to shifting entire cultures, Ed’s focus has always been clear: solve what matters. A certified Master Black Belt and former executive with Bank of America and Capital Group, Ed combines the rigor of Lean and Six Sigma with a pragmatic, people-centered approach. He’s facilitated dozens of high-impact improvement projects, helping companies achieve measurable gains in efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability. Ed holds an MBA from Pepperdine and professional certifications in Design Thinking (Darden), Customer Experience (UCI), and Executive Presence (Wharton/Emeritus). But he’ll tell you some of his best lessons came from leading Marines, where he learned how to communicate under pressure, navigate ambiguity, and earn trust quickly—a skillset that’s shaped his entire leadership philosophy. In this book, he invites you to step away from solution-chasing and into a more thoughtful, disciplined approach to problem solving. Blending real-world insights, candid storytelling, and just enough dry humor to keep it fun, "Stop Jumping to Solutions" reads more like a conversation than a manual. Ed lives in Arizona with his wife, Jen, where he enjoys writing—he’s currently working on his second book, "Lead Like You Mean It: The Art of Inspiring Others"—as well as refining his golf game and crafting the occasional perfect cocktail.
