Deborah Crowley Jones is an author and former mental health professional with over 25 years of experience working with individuals affected by emotional and psychological trauma. Born and raised in Skowhegan, Maine, Deb developed a passion for writing early in life, but her professional career and personal challenges delayed her path to authorship. In 2011, following the painful breakup of her marriage due to infidelity and her husband's criminal actions, Deb began journaling as a form of emotional release. What started as a private way to cope eventually became the foundation of her debut memoir, A Wife Turns Informant—a deeply personal account of betrayal, survival, and truth-telling. During her years in the mental health field, Deb often worked with women who had endured various forms of abuse. She maintained a strong sense of responsibility toward justice and safety as a mandated reporter. When she discovered her own husband's long-standing abuse, she took a stand—not only for herself, but for those he harmed—helping to ensure accountability and closure for his victims. After her divorce, Deb adopted the pen name Phoenix, a symbolic gesture encouraged by her divorce attorney, who believed she would rise from the ashes of her past. That name now represents her transformation and the power of reclaiming one’s story. Today, Deb uses her writing to connect with others who have faced hidden abuse, emotional trauma, and injustice. Her work speaks to the strength it takes to survive, the importance of truth, and the healing power of storytelling. Deborah Crowley Jones, writing as Phoenix, invites readers into a world of raw honesty, resilience, and rebirth. Follow her on Amazon and social media to stay connected with her writing and future projects.
