Bradford Smith is an internationally known studio jeweler, lapidary, and workshop instructor. Following a career in industrial automation, robotics, and CAD, he taught advanced jewelry classes in the Los Angeles and Santa Monica Adult Ed school system for 16 years. He shares his love of jewelry fabrication in a series of popular online workshops and writes monthly articles for over 100 jewelry clubs in 4 countries. Smith's Step-by-Step article on broom casting was published in the inaugural issue of "Jewelry Artist" magazine, and his series of six books in jewelry skills development comes from his years of teaching hundreds of students. He has also published an award winning, humorous memoir about how as a city boy he got married and moved to a Virginia farm along with his new wife's 28 rescue horses, 10 dogs, 12 cats, and 4 kids. Brad is a former President of the Culver City Rock Club. He is a member of the Metal Arts Society of Southern California and enjoys photography, scuba diving, writing, and public speaking. He and his wife reside in Virginia near the Chesapeake Bay with 42 Canadian geese and three turtles as close neighbors.
