E26 S1 Bama win over South Carolina Rewind Relook as Bama narrowly escapes lesson learned issues exposed

Recap of the Alabama vs. South Carolina Football Game in 2024:

The Alabama Crimson Tide, ranked No. 7 at the time, narrowly defeated the South Carolina Gamecocks 27-25 on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The win marked a bounce-back victory for Alabama after a tough loss the previous week.

Bama jumps up 14-0 with 4 minutes to go in the 1st half and then funny things happen.

As SC scores on 4th down to make it 14-7, then gets safety to make it 14-9, and then gets pick on Bama drive right before half as Bama is being too aggressive and returns ball to FG range to make it 14-12 at half.

SC comes out at beginning of 2nd half and scores immediately to take lead 19-14.

Bama scores to take the lead 20-19, but missed on 2 pt attempt.

SC missed FG, and then Bama scores again to take 27-19 lead. SC scores, but misses on 2 pt conversion to cut it to 27-25. SC recovers onside kick and has chance to win the game, but Bama picks up the Sellers pass to the end the game.

Bama survives, but SC outplays Bama in most aspects of the game, and wins on most stats, but 4 turnovers by SC prove costly.

More Bama flaws exposed as Bama survives and barely beats a good South Carolina team.

E25 Rewind Relook at Bama loss to Vandy lessons and issues

Vanderbilt shocked the college football world by defeating No. 1 Alabama 40–35 on October 5, 2024, marking their first win over the Crimson Tide in 40 years and their first-ever victory over an AP top-five team. The Commodores dominated in time of possession, third-down conversions, and capitalized on Alabama’s mistakes to pull off one of the biggest upsets in program history.

This loss showed that Bama had problems and showed the defensive formula of how to beat Alabama.

Load the line of scrimmage and don’t let QB or the running backs run the ball effectively. Blitz and pressure the QB in the passing game and dare him to beat you with short and intermediate passes. Don’t give the QB time to throw the ball deep. Force the QB to use the short passing game betting that he cannot pick you apart and is likely to turn the ball over.

And on offense vs Bama, don’t turn the ball over, but use a ball control offense and a short and intermediate passing game to move the chains and let Bama’s lack of discipline to give you opportunities for big plays when a player blows an assignment.
