When reflecting on the young anointed one and his destined battle with the giant, we sometimes fall into the erroneous thinking that David's preparation was an instantaneous deposit of faith and display of miraculous power, when in reality this climactic fight between David and Goliath only served to reveal what God had formed in the young man over the course of years of faithfulness.
