About this listen
Tiko is a Canadian artist & activist born in Edmonton and currently based in Vancouver.
Tiko was devoted to drawing as a child, and developed an interest in photography while growing up in Calgary. Although possessed by a powerful urge to create, his compassionate nature caused him to study biology in preparation for a degree in medicine, which he gained in 1977.
Tiko shares his experiences living with HIV and his fight to gain access to life changing drugs that would eventually save his and so many others lives in Canada.
Tiko also talks about how his passion for Art has evolved based on his own personal learnings and experiences and we are very delighted to share Tiko's amazing story.
