• Dementia – Can it be Reversed?
    Apr 9 2025

Dementia is a condition that affects memory, thinking, and behavior.

It is not a single disease but a term for a group of symptoms caused by disorders impacting the brain. Common types include Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, and Lewy body dementia.

Symptoms can range from forgetfulness and confusion to difficulty with communication and daily tasks. Dementia is progressive, meaning it worsens over time, and primarily affects older adults, though it is not a normal part of aging and unfortunately, it’s starting to affect younger adults.

Early diagnosis and support can help manage symptoms and improve quality of life.

On today’s show, Janet Rich Pittman joins me as we discuss Dementia – the causes, the treatment and what can be done to reverse the symptoms.

  • Term Limits - Can They Ever Happen
    Dec 31 2024

The Founders never thought that anyone would want to make a career in DC. Their idea was to go up for a limited time, serve the country in a respective manner, then go back home and let someone else have another opportunity to serve. Doesn’t seem to be working that way, does it?

We seem to have far too many politicians who got elected, that never intend on coming back home to their communities, not as an average citizen anyway.

When is enough, enough – This is not what the Founders intended definitely didn’t intend for an individual to get elected as a young or middle-aged person to stay in office until they grow old, have problems functioning, and pass away while in office. But this has become the norm in DC, and no one intends to change things, that is unless they are forced to.

  • The Alphabet Soup of Social Justice
    Dec 20 2024

My guest today is Allen Mendenhall, Associate Dean and Grady Rosier Professor in the Sorrell College of Business and Executive Director of the Manuel H. Johnson Center for Political Economy.

There is little doubt that you’ve heard about Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), Critical Race Theory (CRT) and Environmental, Social Governance (ESG).

These three policies have infiltrated the colleges, seeped into the K-12 educational system and caused Corporate America to reshape their hiring policies and at times dramatically altered their go-to-market strategies.

In just a few years, the drive to install the mindset of these Alphabet social justice programs onto society has, at times, turned generations against each other, caused an upheaval in education across the country and created undo challenges to the business community.

    Dec 13 2024

What do you know about tariffs

Donald Trump has indicted that he will begin imposing tariffs on countries once he takes office.

There are some in the media, along with economic experts say this is a terrible idea, it will increase inflation, and cost people jobs.

While others claim that that applying tariffs will protect jobs and drive towards for a more “free trade market” across the globe.

What do you know about tariffs? In your opinion, are they good or are they bad?

Let’s find out, on today’s show, John Sophocleous, a retired economic instructor, joins me as we discuss the confusing topic of tariffs.
