Ever wonder about those mysterious verses in Genesis that briefly mention fallen angels and giants? There's actually an entire ancient book that dives deep into this story—the Book of Enoch—and it's one of the most fascinating pieces of spiritual literature you've likely never read.

The Book of Enoch tells the explosive story of 200 angels who descended to Earth, took human wives, and produced giant offspring called Nephilim. These angels, named "Watchers," taught humans forbidden knowledge like sorcery, weaponry, and cosmetics, corrupting humanity so severely that God sent the flood to cleanse the earth. Written by Noah's great-grandfather, this text explains the supernatural corruption behind Genesis 6 in vivid detail.

Most surprising? The New Testament book of Jude directly quotes from Enoch, showing early Christians were familiar with it. So why isn't it in our Bibles today? I explore this question thoroughly, examining how the canon was formed and why this particular text was excluded despite being referenced by biblical authors. The original Hebrew manuscripts were lost for centuries, raising questions about authenticity, yet the Ethiopian Orthodox Church still includes it in their canon.

For those seeking deeper spiritual understanding, Enoch provides valuable context for spiritual warfare, the days of Noah (which Jesus said would mirror the end times), and the supernatural forces operating in our world. While we shouldn't treat it as scripture, this ancient text can help fill gaps in our biblical knowledge and deepen our faith when approached with discernment. As Romans 12:2 reminds us, we're called to "be transformed by the renewal of your mind that by testing, you may discern what is the will of God." • 145. Who Is the Holy Spirit? Understanding His Role in the Life of a Believer
    Jul 1 2025

    Send us a text

Have you ever wondered who the Holy Spirit really is? Many believers find the third person of the Trinity mysterious, abstract, or even confusing. Is He merely a force, a feeling, or something else entirely?

In this illuminating episode of the Radiant Mission Podcast, we unpack the true identity of the Holy Spirit straight from Scripture. We establish the fundamental truth that the Holy Spirit is God Himself—not an "it," not a junior version of God, and certainly not just an emotional experience. As the third person of the Trinity, He possesses a divine will, emotions, and the ability to speak, teach, and transform lives from the inside out.

We explore the profound reality that when you accept Christ, your body becomes a temple where God Himself chooses to dwell. This isn't just a theological concept but a life-changing truth that affects every aspect of your faith journey. You'll discover the difference between having the Spirit and walking with Him, and why Jesus said it was actually better for Him to leave so the Helper could come.

The conversation takes a practical turn as we discuss spiritual warfare and answer tough questions like whether a believer can have the Holy Spirit yet still be influenced by demonic forces. We clarify the distinction between the Holy Spirit who brings freedom, truth, and peace, versus other spirits that seek to manipulate, deceive, and oppress.

Whether you've been a believer for decades or are just beginning to explore faith, this episode will help you recognize the voice of the Spirit, understand His empowering presence, and experience the fruit He produces in surrendered hearts. The Holy Spirit isn't a mysterious force to fear but a divine gift to welcome. Ask Him to fill you today and watch as He transforms your relationship with God and others.

  • 144. What Does It Mean That Jesus is the Son of God?
    Jun 24 2025

    Send us a text

What does it truly mean that Jesus is the Son of God? Far more than a theological abstraction, this question strikes at the heart of Christian faith and transforms our understanding of who God is and how He relates to us.

Diving deep into scripture, we unpack the profound meaning behind Jesus' divine sonship. This isn't about biological creation but an eternal relationship that existed before time began. Through passages like John 1:1-3, we discover Jesus wasn't made by God—He is God, the second person of the Trinity who chose to enter our world.

The concept of the Trinity emerges naturally as we explore how Jesus can be distinct from the Father while remaining fully God. We witness this beautiful mystery at Jesus' baptism where all three persons of the Trinity appear simultaneously—Jesus in the water, the Spirit descending like a dove, and the Father speaking from heaven. Each person maintains distinct consciousness while sharing perfect unity in essence and purpose.

We also examine why this divine sonship was so controversial among first-century Jews, whose strict monotheism made Jesus' claims sound blasphemous. Yet their own scriptures contained prophecies pointing to a divine Messiah—prophecies Jesus fulfilled in unexpected ways.

Perhaps most remarkable is the reality that Jesus lived among us—experiencing hunger, fatigue, and temptation—yet remained perfectly sinless. He grew up with siblings who initially rejected his claims, only to become believers after witnessing his resurrection. This perfect life amidst imperfect people demonstrates his divine nature in compelling ways.

Understanding Jesus as the Son of God isn't just about correct theology—it transforms how we approach life, faith, and our relationship with God. It challenges us to move beyond simply respecting Jesus from a distance to surrendering completely to his lordship. Have you truly embraced Jesus as both fully God and fully man, the King who will return in glory? Your answer changes everything about how you live today.
