The Capitals started off winning 2 close games in DC but then dropped game 3 in Montreal which was expected. The boys got their act together in Game 4 though with a convincing 3rd period stand that secured them a 5-2 victory. Wednesday they are back in the Nations Capital to play game 5 with only 1 game to win to move onto the next series.

Beyond the exciting Caps first round, there's a ton of other news around the league about the teams who are currently in the playoffs and the teams who didn't make it firing coaches and even general managers.

The Ovechkin goal scoring record hangover is in full effect as the team is trying to get back to it's winning ways. Unfortunately, this is proving harder than expected as the Caps have had very little to play for after Ovi has shattered the record. They have locked in the #1 seed in the East and secured another Metropolitan Division title for weeks now and these last games are largely a formality.

Spencer Carberry doesn't seem too bothered about this and believes that the Caps are going to be able to turn it on during the playoffs. But between then and now, they still have a couple of meaningless games left to finish out.
