בעניני קדושה צ"ל "מעלין בקודש". ועאכו"כ בעניני כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, נשיא בישראל [אשר "הוא בחיים" עד ביאת המשיח! וגם אז נלך אנו עם הרבי שלנו, נשיא דורנו], והיות אשר ה"נשיא הוא הכל" – זה צ"ל באופן של פרסום. ובכן: כל מה שכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר רצה – מתמלא! (כמו כאשר הממשלה רצתה לאסור עליו לקחת איתו (בצאתו מהמדינה) חלק מהספרים והכתבים, ואמר שהוא יסע רק עם כל הספרים וכתבים – כך הי'!) בנין זה נתן כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר ל"אגודת חסידי חב"ד" – ובאסיפה של "אגודת חסידי חב"ד" לאחרונה הוחלט לפרסם זאת – ורצונו הי' שזה יהי' מקום תפילה, גם בחלק הבנין בו היתה דירתו הפרטית [אף שפשוט, שגם העיקר בדירתו הפרטית (של כל יהודי, וכ"ש של צדיק) הוא הלימוד והתפילה הספרים והכתבים, ועניני אכילה ושתי' ושינה וכו' הם בגדר טפל דטפל, ובפרט שאצל נשיא – הרי הוא גם אוכל שותה וישן וכו' כנשיא] ובאסיפה זו הוחלט שאכן ימשיכו להתפלל שם. ויה"ר שנזכה בקרוב ממש לגאולה האמיתית והשלימה, כאשר כל הבתי-כנסת ובתי-מדרשות שבחו"ל, עאכו"כ בנין "770", יעברו בשלימותם לארצנו הקדושה.

We must always ascend in holiness, and all the more so when it comes to something relating to my father-in-law, the Rebbe, a Nasi of the Jewish people. And since “the Nasi is everything” – this must be done in a public fashion. Everything that the Rebbe, my father-in-law, wanted, will be fulfilled (as we saw when the Russian government wanted to prohibit him from taking some of his sefarim and manuscripts with him upon leaving the country, but he declared that he would travel only with all of them, and so it was). The Rebbe gave this building to Agudas Chassidei Chabad – and at a recent meeting of Agudas Chassidei Chabad, it was decided to publicize this – and he wanted it to be a place for davening, including the part of the building that ostensibly served as his private residence (though it is obvious that even a Jew’s private residence is primarily used for Torah study, davening, sefarim and manuscripts etc., while eating, drinking, sleeping, etc., are totally secondary, and certainly the home of a Nasi, who eats, drinks and sleeps as a Nasi). Therefore, it was decided at the meeting to keep using the private residence for davening. May it be Hashem’s will that we merit very soon the true and complete Redemption, when all shuls and study halls in the Diaspora, and certainly the building of 770, will be transferred in their entirety to our Holy Land.

הוראה ממ"ש בסיום פ' קרח "מכל מתנותכים תרימו גו' בהרימכם את חלבו ממנו וגו'": בכחו של שבט לוי לפעול הרמה ("בהרימכם")בדבר גשמי בעולם, וגם אם הדבר כבר טוב ומשובח ומעמדו ומצבו הרוחני הוא נעלה ביותר ("חלבו"). ובודאי ניתן הכח לזה, עפ"י הכלל ד"איני מבקש לפי כחי אלא לפי כחן", וגם אם כבר ניצל את כחותיו בפועל, הרי "מי שיש לו מנה רוצה מאתיים וכו'. ואע"פ שכינוס זה הוא של קבוצה מוסיימת בעם ישראל (מדריכות ומסיימות) ומהי שייכותן להוראה הנ"ל ששייכת לכאו' רק לשבט לוי? הנה כבר כתב הרמב"ם בנוגע לענינים המיוחדים של שבט לוי ש"לא שבט לוי בלבד, אלא כל איש ואיש מכל באי העולם אשר נדבה רוחו והבינו מדעו להבדל [מהבלי העולם שאין להם שייכות ליהדות] לעמוד לפני ה' לשרתו" באופן של "לוי" (ע"ש "ילוה אישי אלי") – שמתחבר עם עניני תומ"צ – הנה גם אליו שייכים הענינים שנאמרו בקשר לשבט לוי, וזוכים לברכה מיוחדת ש"אני חלקך ונחלתך", שהקב"ה מבטיח שלא יהי' לו שום דאגות ובאופן של"נחלה" שניתנה בגורל וכו'.

The Torah states at the end of parashas Korach, “You must set aside up from all your gifts…after you lift up its choicest part from it…,” meaning the tribe of Levi has the power to lift up physical objects in the world, and even if an object is already good and lofty (“its choicest part”), they have the ability to lift it up even more. Although the Torah is seemingly talking about the tribe of Levi, this applies to every Jew, as the Rambam writes, “Not only the tribe of Levi, but any one of the inhabitants of the world whose spirit generously motivates him and he understands with his wisdom to set himself aside” from the vanities of the world and “to stand before Hashem and serve Him” can serve Hashem as a Levi, attaching (Levi from the expression yilaveh ishi eilai – “my husband will become attached to me”) himself to Torah and mitzvos. And then Hashem will be “your portion and your inheritance,” so that he will have no struggles and no worries, and Hashem will provide everything as an inheritance given by lot etc.

1) ראש חודש הוא יום טוב לנשים שבו נוהגות להמנע ממלאכות מסויימות, וזה השכר שלהן על שלא רצו לקחת חלק בעשיית ה"עבודה זרה" של העגל וכו'. וההוראה: יש לנשים את הכח לחזק את האנשים בזמן הגלות שלא יהי' להם שייכות לענינים ש"זרים" לבנ"י. 2) גאולת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר ממאסרו בי"ב תמוז פעלה חיזוק בהפצת היהדות במדינה ההיא. באמת ב(אד)ר"ח תמוז הודיעו לכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר שיכול להשתחרר [ושעליו לנסוע לקאַסטראַמאַ] אלא שסירב להשתחרר אז כי זה הי' קשור עם חילול שבת וכו'. וההוראה: כשהיצה"ר מנסה לשכנעו שמותר לעבור על ציווי ה' על מנת להשתחרר מ"בית האסורים" – אין לשמוע בקולו אלא לסמוך על ה' שבודאי ינחה אותו בדרך הטוב וכו'.

(1) Rosh Chodesh is a special Yom Tov for women, on which women customarily refrain from certain forms of work, in reward for their refusal to take part in the avodah-zarah (“foreign service”) of the golden calf etc. The lesson is that during the exile, women have the power to strengthen the men to have no association with anything foreign to the Jewish people. (2) The liberation of my father-in-law the Rebbe from prison on 12 Tammuz effected a strengthening in the spreading of Yiddishkeit in that country. The truth is that the Rebbe was informed of his release on Rosh Chodesh Tammuz, but he refused to leave because the trip (to exile in Kostroma) would continue into Shabbos; instead he chose to remain in prison until after Shabbos. The lesson is that when the yetzer hara tries to convince a person that it’s permissible to transgress Hashem’s command in order to be released from “prison” – one must not listen, and must trust in Hashem Who will surely guide him on the good path etc.
