  • #125 - Billy Jensen on Solving Murders & Starting Over
    Apr 14 2025

Armie Hammer sits down with investigative journalist and true crime author Billy Jensen for one of his most honest and emotional interviews yet. Billy opens up about his early days breaking murder stories for the New York Times, his obsession with unsolved cases, and the rise of his career as a respected voice in true crime media. He shares what it was like to help solve real cases using crowdsourcing, the complexities of working with grieving families, and the psychological toll that comes with chasing darkness for a living.

But the conversation goes even deeper as Billy talks candidly about battling alcoholism, being publicly cancelled, and rebuilding his life from the ground up. From rehab and relapse to reflection and recovery, he and Armie explore the human cost of fame, failure, and forgiveness. It's a powerful, vulnerable, and surprisingly redemptive dialogue between two people who’ve both seen their lives implode — and are still here to talk about it.

❤️ LOVE THIS!!!

This really appeals to my inner voyeur. I love that he’s working through this ‘mess’ he created, taking full accountability and becoming a happier, better version of himself. Hard lessons, and so relatable. This man has lots of very relevant things to say and is so down-to-earth and open. Definitely that guy who’s always the life of the party with the best stories and tells them like the pro he is. I love watching this process/progress. We need more of this!

Also- amazing voice and ease with words, please narrate more books!!! I admit, I like the YouTube so I can watch the multitude of expressions on that gorgeous face, but either way, this is so real, so fascinating, inspiring and so important to anyone who has made mistakes and is strong/brave enough to put the pieces back together. Thank you for sharing this, Armie!!!
