Ruth: Behind the Seen, Part 1
    Ruth 1:1-22

Main idea: God is at work, even when we can’t see it.

Love and obedience lead us to take risks (1:10).

We must not allow our pain to keep us from seeing God’s provision (1:13, 19–21).

Despair causes us to either draw closer to God or pull away from him (1:16–18).

  • 295 That's Not My Jesus - Matt. 16:13-16 (June 22, 2025)
    Jul 2 2025
    That’s Not My Jesus
Main idea: We must follow the Jesus that is revealed through Scripture.

Jesus gives us what we need (Matt. 6:31-33). Fallacy: “My Jesus gives me everything that I want.”

Jesus expects us to turn from sin and grow spiritually (Matt. 15:48). Fallacy: “My Jesus loves me just the way I am.”

Jesus recognized and called out sin (John 8:2–11). Fallacy: “My Jesus doesn’t judge and loves no matter what.”

Jesus rebuked respectfully and displayed righteous anger (John 2:13-16, 4:16-18). Fallacy: “My Jesus turns over tables.”

Jesus was more than human (Matt. 16:13-16; Phil. 2:5–11). Fallacy: “My Jesus is the symbol of a humanitarian.”
