About this listen

Welcome to “Should’ve Gone To Therapy,” Where two friends in their 30's share the real, the raw and often funny moments of navigating life’s ups and downs. From balancing demanding corporate jobs, with personal ambitions to staying fit, exploring new places, and figuring out relationships, we’re here to talk about it all.

Each episode is a laid-back conversation where we reflect on our own stories, the lessons we’ve learned, and how we’re using those lessons to level up. We’re not experts, just two people trying to make sense of this journey—figuring out how to grow, get better, and still enjoy the ride.

So, if you’re looking for a podcast that feels like chatting with friends over a drink. One that’s insightful, relatable, and maybe even gives you a nudge to reflect on your own path, then you’ve come to the right place. Tune in, kick back, and let’s get into it together.

  • Should've Gone to Therapy EP016|| Nigel’s Off the Bench & Was Winston Churchill Jamaican?
    Jun 25 2025

    Nana’s out, Nige’s in, and things get chaotic quick. Episode 16 kicks off with the big questions:

    Was Winston Churchill Jamaican? Would you rather be funny or smart? And if you were 18 again…are you picking uni, or saving yourself the debt?

    Then, the boys stumble into something deeper: are you coasting through life without realising? And how do you even know when it’s happening? Nigel opens up about his approach to goal-setting, which involves dire consequences and some serious self-pressure to stay on track.

    It’s a little bit of madness, a little bit of therapy, and a lot of Cookie and Nigel just throwing thoughts at the wall.

  • Should've Gone to Therapy EP015 || Should’ve Gone to the Gym
    Jun 18 2025

    The boys are back! And this time, fresh from the gym. Episode 15 kicks off with a recap of a sweaty little challenge session with the mandem, and a debate on whether working out with friends actually helps… or if it’s just loud reps and no peace.

    Things take a more reflective turn as Cookie shares his thoughts on the recent Air India crash, and how moments like that hit different when you work in aviation. Life’s fragile, and sometimes you need that reminder.

    Then we move into book mode. Nana’s been reading The Way of the Superior Man and, of course, he’s brought quotes. Cookie tries to keep a straight face while Nana breaks down ideas about purpose, masculinity, and taking criticism from your friends. One of them’s leaning in, the other’s rolling their eyes, and you can probably guess which is which.

    To wrap it up, Scroll Patrol finally makes its debut: the segment where the boys judge viral self-help clips and decide whether it’s wisdom or waffle.

  • Should've Gone to Therapy EP014|| Sweat, Shame & Self-Improvement
    Jun 11 2025

    Nigel’s in the building! The boys welcome their first ever guest and potential co-host, as Cookie and Nana put him through a very professional two minute interview.

    Cookie recounts a traumatic journey home lugging 40kg of podcast gear through central London in 26 degree heat. The lesson? It’s time to get a car. That opens the floodgates to a chat about driver’s licenses, shame on the tube, and a hilarious story about Nana’s dad dodging the DVLA.

    Nana breaks down his new wellness plan—MBSR: Mind, Body, Soul Revitalisation—a self-imposed programme to get back on track mentally, physically, and spiritually (and maybe get a little hench again while he’s at it). The boys reflect on momentum, discipline, and what it takes to feel good in yourself again.

    Like what you hear? Stick around, there’s more coming.
