  • July 8, 2025: Plan B? Alternative options for Canucks' 2C and Dakota Joshua's future
    Jul 8 2025

With the Canucks stuck in the mud in their search for a second line centre, Matt and Blake take a look at the "outside the box" options that they have in front of them. The guys look at internal and external options, with varying degrees of hope and risk. They also take on some fans' suggestion of moving Dakota Joshua to centre, but is he even going to be a Canucks this season? The 4th Period's David Pagnotta then joins the guys to go over some of the options discussed, plus he takes us through some of the tires that the Canucks have kicked in the offseason already, like Marco Rossi and Bowen Byram. David also addresses other offensive options that may be available with some prodding, and the possibility of a rare August trade market as many teams look to jockey for cap space. Whitecaps goalkeeper Isaac Boehmer then joins to talk about his upcoming start in the Canadian championship match vs Valour on Wednesday, and how the Whitecaps have battled roster adversity in the last 6 weeks. Matt and Blake finish up with some Whitecaps transfer reports, and the Blue Jays just keep winning!

  • July 7, 2025: Allvin speaks on.the dawn of EP40-Chytil era at centre, NHL goes quiet with cap space
    Jul 7 2025

Another post-weekend wrap up show for Matt and Blake as they look back on the various moves by the Canucks and around the league, not to mention the rest of sports. The boys listen in on Canucks GM Patrik Allvin's chat with John Shannon and hilight his clip on the confidence he has in Elias Pettersson and Filip Chytil as the top 2 centres to start the season. They also look at the copious amout of cap space still available in the NHL, the free agents still available and the RFA's that have yet to sign as well. John Shannon then joins the show to get further into his discussions with Allvin, where the Canucks may find space for a trade at some point, and if he expects the Canucks to start the season with 3 goaltenders. Jeff Paterson joins from RinkWide for his first chance to breakdown the free agency decisions of the Canucks, and gives his grades on Boeser, Garland and Demko. The guys then get into the absence of 2nd line centres around most of the league and what that means for a league contemplating further expansion. They also debate whether or not the Canucks are free of "anchor" contracts for the foreseeable future. Then Matt and Blake finish up with a baseball wrap up for the C's, M's and Jays, plus the Lions and Whitecaps have differing results, but both have controversy!

  • July 4, 2025: Canucks still looking for Centre of attention, goalies abound!
    Jul 4 2025

With cap space and publicly available centremen both at a minimum, Matt and Blake get into the challenges ahead for the Canucks before training camp. The guys get into the names still available in free agency, and the chances of a trade for someone that hasn't even been discussed yet. All this is stacked up against the overwhelming depth at the goaltending position, with 3 obvious choices at the NHL level, and 5 more below. They also listen in on a coaches round table involving Rick Tocchet that raised some eyebrows about how he did or didn't make adjustments last season. The Sheet's Jeff Marek stops by to look at the free agency period, the winners, and losers, and the Canucks decision to keep the devils they know rather than risk the overpay on the open market. The guys also compare the Boeser deal to the Stars decision on Jason Robertson, the risk/reward of making big moves, and the fallout of the new CBA for players. Then it's CanucksArmy's Dave Hall with his review of the Canucks draft class, and what he's seen so far at the development camp this week. Was Cootes the right choice? Is Medvedev the goalie of the future and is the massive Vilmer Alriksson a viable NHL prospect?
