Bonne fête aux Bernard ! Jeune aristocrate bourguignon en quête d'absolu, Saint Bernard de Clairvaux choisit à 22 ans (en 1112) d'entrer à l'abbaye de Cîteaux. Puis, il fut envoyé fonder un nouveau monastère en Champagne, à Clairvaux. Depuis ce lieu perdu, 700 moines rayonnèrent dans toute l'Europe, où 68 fondations seront créées. Sa réforme monastique opposa saint Bernard à l'ordre de Cluny. Conseiller très écouté des princes et des papes, il prêcha à Vézelay la deuxième croisade.
