He's been a K-9 handler for 11 years and been assigned to both the SWAT team and bomb squad. He's trained with K-9s that have been dual-purpose in patrol and detection.

He instructed foreign military personnel on numerous deployments to the Middle East from 1993 to 2005. He now operates and teaches advanced combat marksmanship and tactics, and teaches courses on managing trauma and stress to those with PTSD on and off duty.

    In today’s episode, you will meet Joe Lynch, who retired as a San Francisco (CA) Police Officer. Joe was first assigned as a patrol officer and then as a sergeant for 10 years. He was a Forensic Artist for 14 years, assigned to a High-Tech Crime Task Force for 5 years, a Digital Forensics examiner for 9 years, and a Crime Scene Investigator for 3 years. He honorably retired after 28 years of service in 2022 and only recently returned to SFPD CSI working in a part time position in 2024.

    Precinct 444 invites you to meet the artists featured in the National Law Enforcement Museum’s newest exhibit, “Officers as Artists: The Creative Expression of Those Who Serve.” Now open until August 30, 2025.

    In today’s episode, you will meet Natalie Murry, who retired in 2002 from Kent (WA) Police Department after 10 years. In 2000, Natalie attended the Forensic Facial Imaging course at the FBI Academy in Quantico to expand her expertise to include other the aspects of forensic art such as age progression, postmortem imaging, and 2 and 3D reconstructions from skeletal remains. For about 20 years, she also worked closely with forensic anthropologist Dr. Kathy Taylor at the King County Medical Examiner's Office in Seattle, doing most of their unidentified remains cases for them.

    "There are so many cases of unidentified remains in the US and not a lot of artists to do the drawings to try to ID them, so I'll continue to do the work as long as I'm asked."
