While listening to the interview, two thoughts came to mind.

The first thought was the old saying - to write what you know. Which was revealed as DC asked the author the question about his inspiration when writing.

The second thought, was that “art imitates life”. The author being interviewed shared that his wife is an artist and was always uncertain about when a painting was truly finished. He had those same feelings about his book. He knew a book was finished when he was happiest about what he had already written. I believe we can all relate to that sentiment.

I look forward to listening to other authors on DC‘s podcasts. Hearing how other writers resolve issues that crop up when writing a book is worth sharing and will help new writers to be more aware that answers will come - sometimes when they least expect it.
