This is episode 262 and this week our feature topic is March Madness - The Final Four! This week we conclude our #MarchMadness tournament! Here's what we talked about: Cheddar from the Big Cheese: Brenda: The its a small world attraction at Disneyland has been under refurbishment since the holidays concluded. They are adding a new scene from Coco to the attraction! The ride is scheduled to reopen on May 9th! Mike: Next year, the Disney Skyliner is set to undergo a small refurbishment from January 25-31, 2026, which will see it closed during those six days. As always, when the Skyliner isn’t running, Disney will provide bus transportation to Epcot and Hollywood Studios from the affected resorts. Sophie: On the Seas with Mickey Cheddar. The last two weeks we've covered the Magic Kingdom and Epcot, today we're looking at Hollywood Studios! Here's what we talked about: Cheddar from the Big Cheese: Mike: Breaking news: The University of Maryland 2025 Commencement speaker was announced, and on May 21st, Kermit the Frog will deliver the commencement address! Jim Henson is a graduate of Maryland. Sophie: Tickets for H2O Glow After Hours at Typhoon Lagoon went on sale on April 4th. The water park is having after hours events on select nights from May 23rd - September 13. In looking at the dates, it looks like this is a once a week schedule. Tickets are $85 for ages 10+ and $42.50 for ages 3-9, plus tax. The event is from 8PM - 11PM on after hours nights. Brenda: From May 21-September 7, Disney has announced that both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon water parks will be open. This marks the first time since 2019 that all six parks at Walt Disney World have been open. April 1st was also the 30th anniversary of Blizzard Beach water park opening! Connect with us! Here's what we talked about: Cheddar from the Big Cheese: Brenda: This past Friday, March 28, National Geographic’s Disney Treasure Documentary premiered on Disney+ and Hulu. This behind the scenes look at how the ship came together sounds really interesting! Mike, do you plan on watching it? Mike: Calling all Space Rangers! Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is going to be getting some updates! Handheld blasters, a brand new scene, and new ride vehicles! This means that the ride will close in August and reopen sometime next year. Sophie: In the YouTube Channel by Walt Disney Imagineering, they have a new episode in the “We Call It Imagineering” series – this one is called Let’s Ride and they are interviewing Imagineers that were instrumental in some of the iconic Disney attractions. Universal Kids Resort The park will feature six new lands, a central hub and an on-site hotel with 300 rooms designed for families. Exact details on each land are still under wraps, but Universal has shared their settings and here they are:DreamWorks' Shrek: A "swamp-themed playground built personally by Shrek" invites kids to "stomp, ride, laugh and play."DreamWorks’ Puss in Boots: "A kitty adoption drive is in full swing with fabulous decorations, sideshow games, fun rides and festive food" in this land featuring Puss in Boots, Kitty Softpaws and Perrito. Here's what we talked about: Cheddar from the Big Cheese: Mike: Walt Disney Imagineering shared a video on the Disney Parks Blog the other day showing how riders will embark on the Monster’s Inc. Coaster. Load, vertical lift, and then away you go! It’s going to be awesome! Brenda: As we prepare for being On the Seas with Mickey, we’re going to talk periodically about various things you can enjoy on the Disney Treasure! Today, we’re looking at the lounges. Skipper Society is themed after the Jungle Cruise! Haunted Mansion Parlor is themed after – well, I’ll let you guess what it’s themed after lol. The Scat Cat Lounge is themed after the movie The Aristocats. Lastly, the Periscope Pub is themed after 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. For coffee shops, you’ve also got Heihei Cafe and Jade Cricket Cafe. Sophie: Lastly, talk about some awesomeness coming to the Star Wars Universe! Dapper Day - April 26th, EPCOT & April 27th MK Flower and Garden Festival Easter and St. Patrick's Day Start of the Rainy Season As always, check the temperatures and be prepared for variances in weather. Make sure you know the park hours! Double check and plan accordingly. Don’t forget about the indoor attractions – when needed, check out things like Country Bear, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, It’s a Small World, Mickey’s PhilharMagic, etc. Stay hydrated – make sure you get enough water, bring sunscreen, be prepared. Find a spot that’s shady and snack on things you bring to snack on as opposed to trying to find a table. Shopping at Disney Springs Moisture wicking clothes – wear things that dry quickly! Water parks – really fun. Don’t forget your water shoes. Mid-day break at the resort. Pool restaurants – enjoy a snack there while enjoying the pool. Find places where you can enjoy the nice temperatures and just relax and enjoy. Holiday themed parades at Disney. Easter eggs at Disney Resorts like the Grand Floridian Mobile order for right when the quick service restaurant opens to be able to get some of the seating locations. Look for specific food items that are designed specifically for Spring. Look for after hours events if your budget allows. Low crowds, lots of fun, snacks included. Sophie’s special fans – really useful for staying cool. You can buy them at various shops throughout the parks.
