Jimmy Gentile — a retired U.S. Marine who served with Golf Company, 3rd Platoon, 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines out of Camp Pendleton, California. During his deployment to Ramadi, Iraq, Jimmy faced the harsh realities of combat and proved his courage under fire, earning the Purple Heart for wounds sustained in the line of duty. His time in service is marked by honor, sacrifice, and a deep brotherhood forged in one of the most dangerous places on earth.

Since leaving the battlefield, Jimmy has embraced a new mission — that of an amazing husband, devoted father, and fierce martial artist. As an active MMA and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, he continues to sharpen his warrior spirit, channeling the same discipline and grit that defined his military career. Jeremy is a 47-year-old maintenance worker at a manufacturing plant, a husband, and a proud father of two—a 22-year-old son and a 16-year-old daughter. When he is not maintaining the machinery at work, he can be found training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a journey he began in March 2019. Despite undergoing a total hip replacement in November 2021, he earned his purple belt in November 2024, proving that a little titanium cannot keep him down.

He has always enjoyed staying active. He played league softball and flag football, coached youth football, and even assisted with children’s martial arts classes. He has hit the slopes on skis and a snowboard, spent time hunting, and competed in pistol and rifle shooting competitions.

He also serves on the board of the Matthew Axelson Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the families of fallen soldiers and helping veterans transition to civilian life—work that he is deeply passionate about.

Like many, he has struggled with weight gain, but life is just another match—you show up, fight hard, and keep moving forward.

Robert is a dedicated Filipino Martial Arts practitioner who began his journey in Modern Arnis under Datu Kelly Worden. Encouraged to explore various systems, he trained with esteemed martial artists such as Ted Lucaylucay, James Keating, Dr. Brett Jacques, and Bob Anderson.

In 2002, he relocated to Hawaii, where he continued his training under Mike "DogZilla" Tibbits, spent some time training with Burton "Lucky Dog" Richardson, and explored local FMA systems unique to Hawai'i. They also participated in several Dog Brother gatherings. He now lives by the saying "Old Man Still Can".

Guro Francis Serrano is not only an internet sensation with videos that have been viewed more than 5 million times, but he is also the Chief Instructor at Filipino Martial Arts school in Riverside, CA. He has been practicing FMA for over 22 years, first under Master Joe Napial until his passing in 2004, then under his brother, Master Sonny Napial, and Guro John Garcia. Francis combines his passion for Filipino culture and history with his technical knowledge of FMA to inspire his students with a dynamic curriculum that is both challenging and progressive. Going beyond the usual lecture, demonstration, and movement practice of most schools, Francis constantly strives to enhance the learning experience of his students by using new teaching tools like multimedia. Surely, an FMA teacher of the next generation.
