About this listen

Everyone has things they are passionate about; things we want our friends to try and experience. So we’ve convinced each other to try different things. We talk about these experiences to see if we can just get one more person to join us on our hill to die on.2019 Art Literary History & Criticism Science Fiction

    Jul 9 2025

    Recorded February 9, 2025

This week Nate and Ryan are continuing to think about the logistical and moral implications of cloning. So in keeping with that important discussion, they begin with Pinocchio and Disco Zoo. After that, they discuss different things they have ended up with multiple copies of. Following their customary odd flavors from Japan (which were especially odd this time) they turn to the main media. During that conversation, they discuss McCarthyism, the importance of backing up data, and the worst possible job description as they talk about the books Mickey7 and Antimatter Blues.

    Jun 14 2025

    Recorded December 1, 2024

This week, Nate talks about a cross country event (surprise, surprise) which he hosted and it may have grown a bit larger than he originally expected. After that, Nate and Ryan talk about things that end well, as all good things must. Then, they have what Ryan only could describe as a Fanta brand Calpis and Baskin Robins Kit Kats. Finally, to wrap everything up, they discuss internal android wars, the strength of nostalgia, and their love for the TNG cast in their discussion of the final season of Picard.

  • 84: We'll Make a New Home and Be Perfectly Fine Without You
    Apr 21 2025

    Recorded September 1, 2024

This week, Nate went to yet another amusement park- one not so dilapidated this time. Then, Ryan talks about a game that seems to have been designed for the venn diagram that is his entire personality. Afterwards, they have a KitKat cereal and a (better than usual) Calpis, only to discuss data backups. Then, they focus their discussion on the social implications of cloning, what makes up a soul, and one woman’s solution for dealing with people she just doesn’t like in their discussion of the book, Six Wakes by Mur Lafferty.
