  • The Johnson Sea Link Incident
    Jun 25 2025

In June 1973, The Johnson Sea Link, a deep-sea submersible, went on a routine mission off the coast of Florida. The Sea Link quickly became entangled in the cables and debris of a sunken ship. Trapped 360 feet below the surface for over 30 hours, four crew members fought for survival, but only two would make it out alive.

  • Misadventure in Bolivia
    Jun 11 2025

When the going gets tough, the tough get going. A well known phrase that could easily be applied to almost every survival situation. Unfortunately, when it really comes down to it; those who would like to get going can’t wait around for anyone else. And that can be tough stuff. Though in this case it was more like “tough shit”.

    May 28 2025

When it comes to social media, it is said that many are oversharing. Details of one's life including family members, where they live, and the troubles they are experiencing can be known by hundreds, if not thousands of other people. For some, it helps to make them feel connected by bringing in new followers and friends. Before youtube and instagram they felt isolated and unpopular. The likes and comments boost their morale and make them feel wanted. But what happens when a content creator is suddenly disconnected from everyone?

Great stories that are well researched and told with just the right amount of detail. Aaron and Jack are good storytellers who bring interesting commentary and their own POV without making it all about them.

A new angle on true crime

I can't stand most podcasts, as the commentary often detracts from the content and drags along. Not here! These two have the greatest dynamic, and their commentary adds to the content, as opposed to hindering the story. They bring humor, intellect, and insight, while honoring these very serious historical events. I love listening to them, and is my current favorite! Thanks guys, I'm a huge fan! Keep it up!

I have followed Generation Why for many years now. I'm an Aaron fan because I like how he brings the stories across in a caring, respectful, and logical manner. He and his co-podcaster don't disappoint here. I enjoy hearing real life stories about real people with real struggles and (usually) real victory. I hope you guys keep up the good work.
