La popular barriada habanera de Marianao, vio nacer el 23 de noviembre de 1940 al que muchos consideran el mejor pitcher cubano que ha pasado por el béisbol de Grandes Ligas, el derecho Luis Tiant. Tras debutar en 1964 con los Indios de Cleveland su carrera fue en ascenso hasta la década de los ´70 cuando pasó 8 campañas con los Red Sox de Boston. De la brillante temporada de 1968, la Serie Mundial de 1975, sus 229 victorias, 2416 ponches y PCL de 3.30 en MLB y la injusticia que lo mantiene fuera del Salón de la Fama en Cooperstown habló Luis Tiant en exclusiva para TUDN Radio a propósito de su cumpleaños 80.
