The Dallas Stars were shut out 4-0 by the Colorado Avalanche in Game 4. Dallas missed a big early opportunity, failing to capitalize on two power plays in the first 10 minutes. The Avalanche took control after that, scoring first and never looking back. Colorado’s speed and pressure overwhelmed the Stars throughout the night. Goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood was solid, stopping everything the Stars threw his way. Dallas struggled to generate high-quality chances and looked out of sync offensively. Tyler Seguin scored the ot winner after the Stars killed off over three minutes of a Mason Marchment penalty to begin the frame. On today's episode of Locked On Stars, Joey Erickson reacts to the Dallas Stars overtime win over the Colorado Avalanche in Game 2 to even the series with Colin Blackwell serving as the overtime hero. The Stars and Avs showed their depth in game 2 but it was the Stars that had the slight edge and played extremely well down the stretch. Jake Oettinger made key saves when they needed it and Dallas got better as the game wore along. Special teams are always important and Dallas has done a pretty good job for the most part but they have to be more discipline moving forward in the series and not allowing penalties or a failed power play to stall their momentum.
