    The Golden Knights are trailing the Minnesota Wild in the opening round 2-games-to-1 after another convincing win by Minnesota. They beat VGK 5-2 for a second game in taking the series lead. Again the top line of the Minnesota Wild took over a game and VGK's top line couldn't count. Kirill Kaprizov scored two power play goals. The Wild had 4 points on 17 shots from its top line. The good news is if VGK can steal a win Saturday, they would be tied up in the series heading back to Las Vegas for game 5. They Golden Knights have seen constant pressure from Minnesota. On Thursday night, the pressure led to two more goals on turnovers. VGK also might have goaltending issues. Adin Hill was pulled after two periods after stopping 17 shots on 21 attempts. He has not been sharp in the series so far. We talk about Saturday's game being a must-win for VGK. And, we have our WTF feature.

The series shifts to Minnesota for Game 3, following a disastrous 5-2 loss on Tuesday to the Wild. VGK gave away the puck 15 times and both Brayden McNabb and Shea Theodore were each -4. The golden Knights were able to put 32 shots on goal but most were from the perimeter. We talk about our concern level for VGK heading into the third game of the series.     Brayden Mc Nabb and Shea Theodore kept turning over the puck in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Minnesota Wild. VGK had a solid first five minutes of the game. Right after that the Wild outshot the Golden Knights 8-to-1 and scored two goals as Minnesota scored twice in 1:39. Noah Hanifin and Tomas Hertl scored for the Golden Knights in the game. McNabb and Theodore were each -4 on the night. In fact Theo contributed to the first four Minnesota goals. We also ask Where is the Top Line for the Golden Knights. Minnesota now has home ice advantage heading into Thursday's game in Minneapolis. The series is tied at 1-1.

The Golden Knights played at a better pace and were able to withstand a physical matchup - Minnesota outhit VGK 54-29 in the Golden Knights 4-2 win on home ice. Brett Howden scored twice for VGK. Bruce Cassidy was able to preserve a lot of his players, balancing time between his lines so players could be fresh when they came on the ice. The Golden Knights also rolled four strong lines.     Bruce Cassidy said we can expect much of the same style the rest of the series between VGK and Minnesota. The Golden Knights and Wild played at a fast-pace and it was a physical game. VGK prevailed 4-2 before a T-Mobile crowd. Howden's first goal was on a missed assignment by the Wild's Zach Begosian. Howden had a clear path to the net where he beat Filip Gustaffson. It gave VGK a 3-1 lead at the time. His second goal was at the buzzer on an empty netter with :01 to go. We talk about the impact of Tomas Hertl who scored a goal after winning a face-off. Hertl also assisted on the Pavel Dorofeyev power play goal. We also discuss areas VGK has to improve on to be successful in the series. The Golden Knights depth already has shown up.

    Will the Golden Knights continue their dominance against the Minnesota Wild? We will find out starting Sunday when the best-of-seven opening round begins in Las Vegas. The Golden Knights have won the last five meetings between the clubs, including a three-game sweep this season. Both teams appear to be relatively healthy as the series begins. TNT reported Noah Hanifin was listed as day-to-day with a lower body injury, but we haven't heard anything from Bruce Cassidy. Kirill Kaprizov and Joel Erickson Ek, two key parts of the top line recently returned to action. This could be a battle of the top lines for each team. We make our predictions for each series.
