    Once again your White Pine County Commission can’t decide to deficate or get off the porcelain Facility. This is definitely the case with the Heritage Park project. Once again, they saber rattled to kill the project, then backed off again. The major positive selling point of this park. Three Baseball-softball fields. Somebody needs to explain to the commission how lucrative Sports Tourism is. With three fields here, the old Marich Field Complex, and the Little League fields, the city could attract a number of small area and regional Baseball and Softball tournaments. By fighting this project it strikes me as stepping over dollars to pick up pennies as this commission is developing a reputation of being anti-tourism and anti-change. The commission’s opposition is even more questionable since Commissioner Pauley is involved in construction, and he is now wanting to develop this property into housing! More and more, this commission seems to be more into their own interests, and not yours...

In the interview you'll hear a lot of the same issues we face today. The interview aired on KELY in Ely, KWNA-AM in Winnemucca, and KTSN in Elko. Both KWNA and KTSN are no longer broadcasting.

    We lost Jon in 2014 at the age of 63. (https://m.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/feb/19/ely-mayor-jon-hickman-dies-at-age-63/) and as we announced this morning, Rachel (seen in the thumbnail) told us today that Rodd has passed following a stroke in February.
