About this listen

We are two childhood best friends, Morgan and Sam, who have a passion for reading that led to forming our own podcast. While Sam reads books with magic, weapons, and girls with supernatural powers, also known as fantasy, Morgan reads books related to romance, LGBTQ theme books, and on the odd day horror novels. We decided to start a podcast after realizing that we spent four to five hours on the phone just talking about the recent books we’ve read. This has allowed us to not only stay close as friends but for us to expand what we are reading.Copyright 2021 All rights reserved. Art Literary History & Criticism

  • EP180 AI’s Place in the Book Community: Does It Belong?
    Jul 6 2025

    Today,

Unfortunately, we had to postpone our review of Bound By Stars by E.L. Starling. Instead, we’re diving into a hot topic in the book community: AI.

We’ll be sharing our thoughts on the recent news about two writers caught using AI to edit and write their books, and discussing the rise of an app called Character AI. More importantly, we’re asking the big question: Is it ethical to use AI to write or even edit a novel? Want to know more about us? Then check out our socials here!

  • EP179 Let's Party Like It's 1999 [Kill the Lax Bro by Charlotte Lillie Balogh]
    Jun 29 2025

    Happy Sunday!!!

This week we talk about the throw back murder mystery Kill the Lax Bro a debut novel from Charlotte Lillie Balogh.

We hope you enjoy this episode! Also make sure you check us out on our socials so you don't miss out on any announcements. Follow us here!

    Summary:

A fresh and darkly funny 90s murder mystery about one high school's net of lies that begin to unravel when a star lacrosse player winds up dead. The night before graduation, all of Hancock High celebrates at their school’s annual lock-in. But what starts out as a fun night turns horribly wrong when a body is found—and the victim is none other than Troy Richards, the school’s star lacrosse player. Everyone is acting totally clueless. As for suspects? There’s Jennifer (the dream girl), Naomi (the geek), Sassi (the overachiever), and Tatum (the rebel). At a glance, it seems like they couldn’t be more unalike, except for the fact that they all hated Troy (the lax bro) . . . but who wanted him dead? From debut author Charlotte Lillie Balogh comes a wickedly sharp take on high school stereotypes, including the boys we love and love to hate: lax bros.
