  • Episode 400: The Life and Crimes of Dorothea Puente
    Apr 28 2025
Dorothea Puente is one of the most prolific female serial killers. Using her grandmotherly demeanor and image, she used the boarding house she ran to murder her residents and cash in on their social security checks. A search of her backyard led to the discovery of seven bodies, but Puente was able to slip out of investigators’ grasp by going out “for a cup of coffee”. Thankfully she was found in Southern California just days later and was charged with 9 murders in all. Her true victim count is unknown, as she maintained her innocence for her entire life. But the truth behind her crimes are more sinister than anyone who knew her could have ever imagined. Puente’s known victims were Benjamin Fink, Leona Carpenter, Dorothy Miller, Betty Mae Palmer, James Gallop, Vera Faye Martin, Alvaro “Bert” Gonzales Montoya, Ruth Monroe, and Everson Gillmouth. • Episode 399: Reagan Tokes
    Apr 24 2025
Twenty-one year old Reagan Tokes, an Ohio State University student, tragically lost her life on February 8, 2017. She was abducted after leaving her job at a restaurant in downtown Columbus, Ohio. Her attacker, Brian Golsby, forced her to withdraw money from ATMs, sexually assaulted her, and ultimately murdered her in Scioto Grove Metro Park. Reagan was shot twice and left in a field, where her body was discovered the next day. Her case led to significant changes in Ohio's criminal justice system, including the implementation of the Reagan Tokes Act. This law introduced reforms to better monitor violent offenders after their release from prison. Reagan's story has been a catalyst for discussions about public safety and justice reform. • Episode 398: The Alphabet Murders
    Apr 21 2025
Three young girls were murdered in Rochester, New York in the early 1970s. Carmen Colon, Wanda Walkowicz, and Michelle Maenza were out running errands when they were abducted - and witnesses saw various parts of the incidents, they were all found murdered within days of their disappearances. Despite evidence being found and multiple suspects being investigated, their cases went cold. They became known as the Alphabet Murders due to each victims’ first and last names starting with the same letter. But was this intentional by the killer, or just a coincidence? Love this podcast

I am new to listening to podcasts. True crime is interesting to me. I watched many different show and now I have been listening to this podcast. I know most of the stories I've heard. Some facts about the cases I hadn't heard before. Thank you for taking the time to research these cases and talking about them. I hope the ones who don't have closure get that for the families.

really good 😢 story all the way around.

I don't understand why you have to swear so much. also, why are you questioning if he was sexually abused or not he probably was most serial killers are or men like him. it's about control

I love the banter between you two and that you have covered cases that I haven't heard of as well as ones I have but you have different details then I have heard because everyone's take on things are so dinmfferent. I also enjoy the listener stories and the spooky stories that you throw into the mix! keep it up and I look forward to what you 2 do in the future!!

appreciation

I love this podcast. I feel like the ladies are very relatable and down to earth. You can definitely hear their integrity for the cases and the victims that they tell. I love true crime, but I'm pretty new to podcasts. I've listened to the most famous ones like morbid. This one I will give five stars. I Want to be friends with these ladies So we could gap about psychology and cases all day long.

The main speaker? Speaks like this?

I listened to a few episodes and I just can't continue - the main speaker does a very poor job - she has a very unfortunate habit of framing most of her sentences as questions, even though they're not questions.
