About this listen

This past weekend’s devastating flooding in the Texas Hill Country has left families across the state grieving, recovering, and trying to make sense of the tragedy... and While adults may struggle with the emotional weight of these events, it can be especially difficult for children to process. On Ask the Expert, Dr. Katherine Magnuson, a pediatric psychologist with Children’s Health, joined KRLD to help parents navigate how to talk to their kids about tragic events like this and support their emotional well-being during uncertain times. Children's Health is offering free behavioral health consultations through the Children’s Health Virtual Visit app. Now through Sunday, July 20, parents and families can use the code "TXFLOOD" when scheduling to receive care at no charge.
