About this listen
Kingdom Culture Phoenix exists to disciple people to know and follow Jesus through Word and Spirit.
This week, Pastor Eric continues in expound upon how worship is our response to God's unchanging power, presence, and love reminding us that He alone is truly worthy, not us or the things we try to control.
🔑 Key Takeaways:
✅ Who Is Like the Lord? (v.11)
“Who is like you, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like you, majestic in holiness, awesome in glorious deeds, doing wonders?”
- A rhetorical question full of awe and reverence.
- God's Immutable Nature: His essence and character are unchangeable.
- Unchanging Nature – God does not evolve.
- Unchanging Character – His love, justice, and mercy are constant.
- Unchanging Will – His plans are perfect and eternal.
- Unchanging Promises – He is always faithful.
Incommunicable Attributes of God
These are divine qualities that cannot be shared by any created being:
- Omnipresent – God is everywhere at once.
- Omniscient – God is all-knowing.
- Omnipotent – God is all-powerful.
The great lie: “You can be like God.”
We counterfeit God’s attributes:
- Technology – pretending to be all-powerful.
- Social Media – projecting presence everywhere.
- Search + AI – mimicking all-knowing capabilities.
Romans 1:25 – “...they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator...”
✅ What Has God Done? (v.12–13)
“You stretched out your right hand; the earth swallowed them.”
- God’s Right Hand = His faithfulness in power.
- God’s Love = Steadfast, fatherly, holy, and fierce.
Francis Chan:
“Can you imagine if your kids were only 80% sure that you loved them as their Father?”
God’s love is unchanging, unending, and unearned.
Worship reminds us:
- Who God is.
- What He has done.
- Why we can trust Him again and again.
✅ Worship Is Our Right Response
What have you seen God do?
- Worship is how we respond to God’s character and works.
Worship...
- Reminds us of God’s power.
- Builds faith that He can do anything.
- Centers us on His works, not ours.
- Places God on the throne and us at His feet.
✅ The World Will Take Notice (v.14–16)
“Terror and dread fall upon them…”
Takeaway:
Worship is not about us. It’s all about Him—His power, His presence, and His unchanging love. Let’s seek Him with awe and intimacy every day.
