The former mill and distillery is 190 years old, and played a vital role in transforming Toronto’s waterfront. But among the shops and the tourists lingers the spirit of a man who lost his battle with despair on February 18th after losing his wife and newborn child. This is the story of Gooderham and Worts. Just over 30 mins away from Canada’s capital city is a suburb located on the Rideau River that feels like a country getaway within Ottawa. It is a heritage village rooted in history with a perfect small-town charm. Named after the Ojibway word for “island in the river” by its founder, Moss Kent Dickinson, Manotick's has a very recognizable landmark. It is the only working museum in the Ottawa area and one of very few operating industrial grist mills in North America. Watson's Mill has also the home of Ann Currier, the wife of Joseph Currier since 1861. Wonderful ghostly podcast

I've only listened to the introduction of this podcast, as it's brand new and that is currently the only episode available, but already this is so much better than many other ghost story podcasts I've tried! The quality is very good, the host doesn't meander around in small talk, and the presentation doesn't resemble a sixth grade book report! I can't really judge the material yet, of course, which is the only reason I gave the content only four stars, but this far I have very high hopes for Haunted Canada! With sound effects and music, good recording quality, interesting subject matter, and an engaging broadcasting style, this promises to be a gem among ghost and true crime podcasts! I look forward to listening to more!

Introductory Episode is Promising!

I was eagerly anticipating this series, because I love ghost stories and these happened not too far from where I live. The storytelling is not too lively, though, and I found myself struggling to get through them. I would, possibly, tune in again for the subject matter, but I’m not sure how soon…

I like that the stories are true, and happened nearby.
