    In this episode of The Your Level Fitness Podcast, we’re taking on a very common statement in the fitness space. “The gym is my therapy.” While working out is an incredible tool for mental and emotional health, it’s not a replacement for actual therapy. These are two different tools, and both are important.

    I share how I personally use the gym as a space to release energy, gather thoughts, and reconnect with myself. For many people, fitness plays a vital role in managing stress and emotions. But I also emphasize that therapy, when accessible, offers something entirely different. A productive working relationship with a trained therapist can help uncover and process the deeper stuff that many of us carry with us through life.

    I dive into the barriers around therapy, from accessibility to affordability, and explain how your routines, habits, and mindfulness practices can help support your mental health while you work toward finding that additional support. This is about building a toolbox that includes both movement and conversation. Both are powerful. But they serve different purposes.
