EP 190: RESPECT THE DEAD

  • Summary

  • Across generations, cultures and continents, there seems to be some similarity the way we approach certain topics of life as humans. Marriage is typically a celebration. Babies are loved and protected. Education is valued. And death is respected. Of course there may be some anomalies, but typically, these mindsets hold true. So what goes on in someone’s head when they decide to disrespect someone’s gravesite by digging up a body? How low can you go?

It’s unimaginable what kind of hatred one must have for someone to decide to dig up their deceased body from a grave. Even more unimaginable is the heartache felt by all families involved. As a parent or loved one of a deceased person, to know that their grave has been desecrated in any manner can make anyone feel violated to the point of wanting to seek vengeance. At the same time, being the parent of someone who has committed such desecration has to invoke feelings of defeat and failure. But should it?

We all know children aren’t a direct representation of their parents good deeds or misdeeds. No matter how much a parent has tried, free will overtakes the decision making of a child determined to do what they want. How far should a parent go to intervene when their child is on the wrong track?

There’s a lot of questions and we don’t have all the answers. But we have our opinions and like always we’re choosing to share. Join the conversation! Leave a comment, share, like and don’t forget to subscribe!

    Thank you for listening!
