    This week's episode of Deez Lug Nutz is dedicated to the memory of Virginia Austin who passed away last Thursday.

    Episode 144 is on the scene with Boo Carlisle who is filling in for Julian as co-host this week alongside usual co-host Jody Freeman. Both hosts are coming back from the beach and Jody explains why he is down a cylinder following his beach trip.

    Caraway Speedway held two massive events during Fourth of July week. The zMAX CARS Tour made their traditional midweek visit and it was Jared Fryar who took his second win of the season and shockingly, it is the first time he has won multiple races during a season on tour. The boys discuss the incident involving Mini Tyrrell, Landen Lewis and Landon Huffman, Ronnie Bassett Jr continuing to show consistency on tour, preparing to race for $50,000 in a few weeks and some of the other stories coming from Caraway.

    The Pro Late Model event was chaotic featuring multiple red flags and a black flag late in the race. It was survival of the fittest amongst the leaders. When the dust settled it was Brandon Lopez who picked up his first career CARS Tour Pro Late Model win. Lopez joins us this week to discuss this and gives us a peek at his racing background and what his sometimes teammate Kaden Honeycutt told him during the race on Saturday.

    Danny Bohn picked up his fourth Tour Type Modified win at Caraway on Saturday in dominating fashion. It was his first SMART Tour win there and his second of his career. Bohn picked up a new ride at the last event at Franklin County Raceway with Andretti Racing and he joined us this week to tell us about that and what else he's been up to. The boys also discuss the event itself and the stories coming out of it!

    Franklin County Raceway had a big event this past weekend honoring Petey Caldwell. Dennis Holdren won the Mini Stock portion and Taylor Ransom picked up his third straight win in Super Streets. Julian was at the track on Saturday and got comments from both drivers. The rest of the winners are covered in the winners portion of the show.

    Boo gives us a preview of this weekend's STAR Super Stock/MASS event from Dillon Motor Speedway while Jody gives you a peak on where you can come see your local short track in action including SAPS at Orange County and the CARS Tour Pro Late Models at Hickory.

    The boys discuss this weekend's events in the streets of Chicago where SVG wins again on the streets of Chicago. The boys give their opinions on if there is a place for street racing for the biggest stock car series in the country and the brutal Cody Ware accident which drew ire from many folks about NASCAR being delayed with the yellow and for dispatching help to Cody who ended up being okay.     Episode 143 is on the scene from the Outer Banks. Well, not exactly. The boys are on vacation this week but racing isn't so we recorded a special episode before they left.

    We welcome racing spotter, PJ Payne. Payne is currently the spotter for Donovan Strauss on the zMAX CARS Tour, Austin Jones at Bowman Gray Stadium and recently served as one of the spotters for Erik Jones for the inaugural Cup Series race in Mexico City. PJ goes in depth about his trip to Mexico from arrival to departure and everything in between. We also take a deep dive into this life and career which has seen him work for the Reaume Brothers, Jesse Iwuji, John Michael Shenette, Stephen Mallozzi, Richard Childress Racing and more. All of this nearly didn't happen however as upon moving to North Carolina, he nearly ran out of money and patience. You need to hear how this story played out!

    Episode 142 is on the scene with Ashton Higgins who won the South Atlantic Pro Series event at Newport Speedway in Tennessee on Saturday. For Higgins, it was the culmination of hard work and perseverance following the last few years which has seen his share of tough luck on the track and off. He tells us about how much this means to him as it is the touring series third event and what the South Atlantic Pro Series offers to it's competitors and more.

    Former Hickory Motor Speedway Track Champion Cody DeMarmels joins us to talk about his first career STAR Super Stock Tour win that occurred Saturday at Anderson Motor Speedway in South Carolina. This second generation racer tells us about his background which includes a story about him moving near Hickory Motor Speedway and deciding he would end up racing there. He talks to us about the pressures of points racing, why he races the STAR Tour and how long it took for him to go through tech on Saturday night among other topics.

    The STAR Tour race is Jody's race of the week and we review the event that saw Jeff Melton, Maxx Porter and Alby Ovitt all get into an accident setting up Cody's win.

    Julian's race of the week takes you to Dominion Raceway for the American Racer Late Model duel between Conner Weddell and Chase Johnson that saw Johnson sneak by Weddell on the last lap on the outside to win!

    Round one of the Virginia Triple Crown is coming up on Saturday and we give you an in depth preview of this year's Harley Davidson Thunder Road 200 from South Boston Speedway.

    We review the cup race from Pocono. Does Chase Briscoe get to breathe easier now that he has a win under his belt for Joe Gibbs Racing and how impressive it was to out duel Denny Hamlin who is a master at this track. What happened to 23X1 over the weekend is discussed as well as another solid weekend for Legacy and we get you geared up for Atlanta and Lime Rock Park this weekend.

    Episode 141 is on the scene and we welcome zMAX CARS Tour star Mini Tyrrell back to the program. In his own words, Mini just won the biggest race of his career Saturday at Dominion Raceway in the event bearing the name of his charity. We discuss how successful Mini's Mission has been and how sweet it was to cap the weekend off with a dominant win in front of his home crowd and the families brought in to keep their minds off of what they are going through.

    We give a full review of the race which saw Connor Hall gain valuable points on Landen Lewis in the battle for the championship after his runner up finish while other contenders had issues.

    We debate whether or not the main event for the night should go on first or go on last just like concerts, boxing, wrestling and UFC fights do.

    Taylor Ransom is a second generation racer who has tasted success at both Franklin County Raceway and at Motor Mile Speedway. When he isn't working on Kyle Dudley's car, he is racing his own Super Street machine. He joins us as we talk about his second win of the season on Saturday, his love for hunting and his start in the sport.

    Episode 140 is on the scene and we welcome Trans-Am Ta2 & NASCAR Xfinity Series Driver Thomas Annunziata to the show. We discuss his career which started in Karting, transitioned to racing spec Miatas and settling into the Trans-Am Ta2 Series where he was multiple events. This success opened doors to run in ARCA where he finished runner up at Daytona of all places in his debut. Thomas is working on pursuing a NASCAR career splitting a NASCAR Xfinity Series ride with Leland Honeyman for Cope Family Racing where he faces new obstacles with a relatively new team.

    Drew Dawson returned to victory lane in the Budweiser Limited Sportsman Division at South Boston Speedway on Saturday. The middle of the three Dawson brothers is our guest and we discuss his big win on Saturday and if he had any words with Zach Peregoy as the two raced hard in the late stages. He also reveals who he would bump out of the way for a win and if he is the best of the three brothers who all race at South Boston.

    We give a full review of God's Pit Crew/First Responders Appreciation night from South Boston over the weekend. Hear from Peyton Sellers, Trevor Ward and Landon Pembleton who finished up front in the late model division. The guys debate if someone who has problems during the first race of a twin bill should be forced to use scuffed tires that has as many laps on them as a driver who finished the first race? Trevor Ward had this happen to him on Saturday as he failed to finish race one but was able to win convincingly in the other race. We also spoke with Landon and Kendall Milam who won in Hornets and Pure Stock on Saturday and they reveal which one like their Uncle is going to do a backflip for the next win.

    We preview the Mini's Mission CARS Tour event from Dominion Raceway. Can Doug Barnes parlay past Dominion success to his first CARS Tour win?     Episode 139 is on the scene with Chase Burrow who is coming off his first career zMAX CARS Tour win which came at his home track of Langley Speedway. He reveals what it means to him, how quickly it sunk in, how it felt for his competitors to congratulate him the way they did and the no nonsense approach to the next race at Dominion. He's had a lot of highs and lows in his career and we talk about it here!

    Speaking of the CARS Tour race, we discuss all the storylines from the annual visit to Hampton Virginia. From Landen Lewis having mechanical issues to Connor Hall chipping away to the overall points lead, the issues between Justin Carroll and Landon Huffman and weighing in on the other storylines coming out of the event.

    We dive into the recent closing of New River All American Speedway and what this could mean for other tracks which inspires Jody to offer a deal to those who may have strayed away from the track.

    Episode 138 is on the scene and we are joined by NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Star Craig Lutz. Lutz talks to us about his win at North Wilkesboro Speedway over a week ago and what he thought overall about the caution filled event that everyone is still talking about. We also dive into his background which started in Late Models while competing at some of the toughest places in the North East including Stafford, Thompson and Waterford Speedbowl where he won multiple races before running the Tour full time since 2014.

    Trackhouse Racing's Bobby Measmer Jr calls into the show fresh off winning at Bowman Gray Stadium in the modified division for the first time since 2018. He tells us whether or not this win as sunk in and the biggest thing that has changed at the stadium since he was a regular there years ago. He also reveals a story that hasn't been revealed anywhere else and reveals how long he has worked for Trackhouse Racing and what the shop was like celebrating Ross Chastain's Coca Cola 600 win.

    Landon Pembelton joins the show again but this time, he's coming off of a win South Boston Speedway during one of their twin Late Model events from over the weekend. Landon discusses his transition from driving for HC Sellers to Marcus Richmond and where he sees their connection at this point in the season.

    We give a full review of the SMART Modified Tour powered by Pace-O-Matic event from Franklin County Raceway. Everyone is discussing the dirt that was added when the facility ran out of speedy dry. We give our takes on that plus everything else that took place last Friday night.

    Episode 137 is on the scene and we welcome back Kyle Dudley back to the show. Kyle has had a lot of success over the last year. From becoming the 100th winner at South Boston Speedway to winning the pole for two of the three Virginia Triple Crown races last season to winning multiple races at Franklin County Raceway including this past Saturday night. The biggest win of his career came five weeks ago when his first child was born. We discuss what being a dad is like, when she's going to drink formula out of a funnel like her dad does and how many races she's already been to. It's always a fun conversation with Kyle so you don't want to miss it!

    Gary Smith also joins us. Smith competes at Franklin County Raceway in both the Stock 4 and Legends Division and he secured a win on Saturday in the Legends division. He also races at Shenandoah & at Natural Bridge Speedway and explains how he got his start in racing during Covid and what he wants to accomplish in his career going forward.


    We preview the upcoming Kenny Minter Classic presented by Clarence's Steakhouse for the SMART Modified Tour this Friday at Franklin County Raceway and the upcoming ASA STARS National Tour events from Hickory and Newport this weekend.

    With the dominant win from Landen Lewis on Friday, we discuss if he is the new driver that everyone needs to be gunning to beat on tour now that he has back to back wins on the CARS Tour. We breakdown the event at North Wilkesboro that saw the tour race on national, traditional television and debate whether the Pro Late Model and Late Model Stock races should run on seperate days going forward.
