    I Am the Good Shepherd

“I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine”

In our society today, we have a lot of substitutes we substitute a relationship with God for religion we substitute good works for God’s Grace we substitute morality for repentance we substitute success for surrender self helps for the Holy Spirit

We substitute comfort for conviction we substitute man’s approval for God’s favor why in the world would anyone wanna substitute Jesus?

Persisting in the absence of sight

    John 9:24-41

Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?

The Pharisees were persistently in the absence of sight. How they said to give God the glory for this miracle but yet called the one that did the miracle a sinner. They also called the one that was born with blindness a sinner. The only sinners that I see here are the Pharisees that rejected Jesus as the son of God.

    Resisting Reality

“Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day”

The Pharisees were resisting the reality that this man was born blind. They also were resisting the reality that Jesus Christ was the son of God.

They perverted the Sabbath day when they rejected the mercies of God done on this day. How many people take something that is right and weaponize it because of their own greed, power, and authority?

    Before Abraham Was, I Am

    John 8:48-59

Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?

The religious leaders of Jesus’ day were blind; they refused his words, his wonderful works. It was sad that they knew all about Abraham, Moses, and David, but could not make the connection after the apostle Paul’s conversion. He made the connection. He found Jesus everywhere in the Old Testament.

If God were your Father, ye would love Jesus

“If God were your Father, ye would love me”

It’s impossible to love the father without loving his only begotten son. Jesus said that these Pharisees’ father was the devil because they were trusting in the lie of the devil.

The apostle Paul warned us of the antichrist. Even he, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

The Truth Will Make You Free

“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed”

Before we were saved, we were in bondage to sin, but now that we have been born again by the Spirit of the living God through the blood of Jesus Christ, we have been made free, not free to continue in sin, not free to do our own will, but free to do his will.

The apostle Paul said, “ But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us.”

Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) the apostle Peter said As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.

    The Light of Life

“he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life”

Jesus is the light of the world. Light represents truth. Darkness represents a lie. The Pharisees were not walking in truth. The truth was right in front of them, but they could not see nor hear the truth because they were trusting in themselves and their own righteousness. Paul, the apostle, dealt with these people, and this is what he said about them.

For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
