Unfortunately, her grandparents could not financially support extra mouths to feed and Theresa along with her brother were often homeless. That is until Margaret Theut along with a great aunt- Janet Jenkins took the kids in and provided for them. All of this would result 17 years later in Theresa murdering Margaret over money that Margaret was saving to give to a charity.
