• July 8th: Why God Wants You to Rest | Kids Devotional Carpooling with Jesus
    Jul 8 2025

Hey Carpool Crew! Whether you're cruising home from a weekend adventure or still in your jammies on a slow morning, this episode is all about one of God’s greatest (and most overlooked) gifts: rest.

Today, Pastor Justin takes us back to Mount Sinai, where God gave Moses the Ten Commandments—including one big reminder we often forget: “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.” – Exodus 20:8 (CSB)

In this episode, your kids will learn:

    • What “Sabbath” really means (hint: it’s more than just a nap)

    • Why God commanded His people to rest after rescuing them from slavery

    • How Jesus redefined Sabbath as a relationship, not just a rule

    • Fun and practical ways kids can slow down and spend time with God—even in a busy world

Jesus didn’t design us to be busy all the time. He designed us to breathe, laugh, play, and rest in His love. Tune in for a kid-friendly lesson full of truth, joy, and faith on the go.

💬 Discussion Question: What’s one thing you could do this week to rest and spend time with God as a family?

  • July 7th: Gideon: Chosen Even When You're Scared | Kids Devotional Carpooling with Jesus
    Jul 7 2025

Hey Carpool Crew! Whether you're on your way to swim lessons, running errands, or relaxing at home with your favorite snack—I'm Pastor Justin, and I’m so glad you’re here.

In today’s Carpooling with Jesus devotional, we’re talking about Gideon—a guy who thought he was way too weak, too small, and too ordinary to do anything big for God. But guess what? God had different plans. If you’ve ever felt nervous, unsure, or like you're not enough, this episode is for you.

We explore Judges 6:12 — “The Lord is with you, valiant warrior.” Even when Gideon was hiding and scared, God called him brave. Why? Because God doesn’t look at what we are today—He sees who we can become when we trust Him.

✨ In this episode, kids will learn:

    • How God sees potential in ordinary people

    • What to do when you feel scared or not good enough

    • How faith can make you strong, just like it did for Gideon

    • Why Jesus loves using regular kids to do extraordinary things

🙌 No matter how small you feel, you are chosen, brave, and never alone.

🚗 Parent Tip: If this encouraged your child today, share this episode with other families—on social media, in your neighborhood group, or with your church. Let’s spread the word about Carpooling with Jesus!

  • July 4th: Freedom in Jesus and the 4th of July (Galatians 5:13) | Kids Devotional Carpooling with Jesus
    Jul 4 2025

🎆 Happy 4th of July, Carpool Crew! Whether you're headed to a BBQ, a parade, or just chillin’ with popsicles and sparklers, Pastor Justin is here—and today we’re talking about true freedom 🇺🇸❤️✝️

In Galatians 5:13, Paul reminds us:

"You were called to be free... but don’t use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love."

    Today’s episode helps kids understand:

    • What real freedom looks like through Jesus

    • How Paul’s letter to the Galatians still matters today

    • That freedom isn’t just for relaxing—it’s for serving, loving, and living boldly

    • How simple acts like sharing cookies or including neighbors show freedom in action

🎇 And if Jesus were sitting next to you during tonight’s fireworks, He’d say: “You’re not just free in your country—you’re free in your life. Free to love. Free to serve. Free to shine.”

🎧 Before you go, answer this together as a family: What’s one way you can use your freedom this weekend to serve someone like Jesus would?

  • July 3rd: Jesus Leaves the 99 to Find You (Luke 15 Parable) | Kids Devotional Carpooling with Jesus
    Jul 3 2025

Hey Carpool Crew! Whether you're buckled in for errands or barefoot in the backseat, Pastor Justin is here—and today’s episode is all about getting lost and being found. 🐑

We’re digging into Luke 15:4–7, where Jesus tells a story about a shepherd who leaves 99 sheep to find the one that wandered away. Sounds like a simple story, but it’s actually a powerful parable about God’s personal love for YOU.

When others saw certain people as too messy or too far gone, Jesus saw worth. He shared this story to show that:

    • You are not just one of many—you are seen and known

    • Jesus would go out of His way just to find you

    • His love isn’t earned—it’s freely given, even when we’ve messed up

    • We should celebrate and pray for those who come back to Him

🎧 Tune in and talk about this question together: What does this story teach you about how Jesus sees you—and how can you share that love with someone else this week?

  • July 1st: Shine Like Jesus – Matthew 5:16 | Kids Devotional Carpooling with Jesus
    Jul 1 2025

Hey Carpool Crew! Whether you’re off to a summer sleepover or winding down with popsicles after a long day, I’m Pastor Justin—and today’s episode is all about shining. Not with glitter or glow sticks, but with the love of Jesus from the inside out.

📖 Verse of the Day: Matthew 5:16 (CSB) “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.”

This verse comes from Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, one of His most famous teachings. Back then, when nights were pitch black without electricity, light made a huge difference. And Jesus told His followers, You are that light.

💡 In today’s episode, your kids will learn: – What it means to shine like Jesus – Why small acts of love and kindness matter – How their choices can help others see God – That they don’t have to be loud or famous to make a big impact

✨ Real-Life Ways to Shine: – Smile at someone nervous – Help a friend at camp or school – Do chores without complaining – Say “thank you,” forgive, and pray for others – Show kindness, even when it’s hard

📣 What Would Jesus Say? If Jesus was riding in the backseat with you, He’d say: You don’t need a spotlight to shine. Just live with love, and people will see me through you.

  • June 30th: God Is With You When You’re Afraid – Isaiah 41:10 | Kids Devotional Carpooling with Jesus
    Jun 30 2025

Hey Carpool Crew! Whether you’re hiking a new trail or heading off to a brand-new camp, I’m Pastor Justin—and today we’re diving into a Bible verse that’s worth remembering your whole life. It’s about fear—and what God actually says when we feel scared.

📖 Verse of the Day: Isaiah 41:10 (CSB) “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God.”

This verse comes from the book of Isaiah, written over 2,700 years ago to God’s people when their world felt scary and uncertain. And instead of giving them a to-do list or telling them to “be braver,” God gives them a promise: I am with you.

💬 In this episode, your kids will learn: – What Isaiah 41:10 meant then and why it still matters today – That God doesn’t mock or rush our fear—He meets us in it – What Jesus might say if He sat with us in our scariest moments – How to respond with faith when you’re facing something new or frightening

🌟 Real-Life Applications for Kids: – Say the verse out loud when you're afraid of the dark – Remember God is with you when you're the new kid somewhere – Ask Jesus for peace when your thoughts feel noisy or your heart feels heavy – Take a deep breath and say, “God, I know you’re with me”

👣 In today’s episode, kids will discover: – Why God told Joshua to be courageous even when he felt scared – That courage doesn’t mean having zero fear—it means moving forward anyway – How Jesus showed courage in hard moments—and gives us the same strength – Real-life examples of what courage looks like at school, at camp, and in our faith
