About this listen
Spencer and Dave are going back to 1998 to talk all about the first movie in to start off the golden age of comic book movies, Blade. Starring Wesley Snipes, Stephen Dorff, and Kris Kristofferson in the vampire hunting and fight world of the Marvel Comics character. Directed by Stephen Norrington and written by David S. Goyer. Taking the comics serious enough and making the film full R rated. Something that needs to come back again.
We step into the Blade's universe and see the start of the early 2000s era of black leather, stylish action, and a pumping techno soundtrack. The Matrix would add to this and of course many other films will follow like Underworld, Resident Evil, Equilibrium, Aeon Flux, and even X-Men to name a few. A very unique time in cinema that is almost lost at the moment.
Join us as we break it all down in this spoiler-filled discussion! Then get sidetracked as usual with other movies, games, comics, and life stories. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more deep dives into fascinating films.
