About this listen
Earl Nightingale defined success as the progressive realization of a worthy idea.
Step 1: Clarify your vision.
- Your vision doesn’t make you successful
- Don’t confuse tasks w vision
- The movement towards your vision determines your success
- Create the goals that will get you there and keep you successful every day
- Every day take deliberate actions that move you closer
Step 2: Eliminate negative self-talk.
- Be attentive to your thoughts
- We don´t think about what we are thinking about
- Examples
- Your not good enough
- That’s impossible
- That’s going to take too much money
- That’s really hard to grow your business
- That’s really difficult
- You don’t have what it takes
- You don’t have the knowledge or sills
- Be conscious – We are not free until we are conscious
- Your self-talk is screaming what your limiting beliefs are
- Write them down draw a line through them and replace them with empowering beliefs
- Repeat the new believes every day for 30 days
Step 3: Build your confidence.
- We have confidence in some area
- We don’t care what people think
- We develop our knowledge and skills
- We practice, practice, practice
- We behave as if…
Step 4: Discover the hidden blocks that may be holding you back.
- Interpretations
- “What’s another way to look at that?”
- Assumptions
- “Just because that happened in the past, why does it have to happen again”?
- Limiting believes
- “How true is that belief”?
- Inner Critic
- Replace inner critic with the inner fan
Step 5: Become the success you want to have
- Look at your vision/goal and determine who do you have to become to get there
- Write out a description of this person
- Work on becoming that person every day
- Start by behaving like this new person
- We don’t become successful when we get what we want, we get what we want when we become successful
Step 6: Act as if it were impossible to fail.
- Take action
- We don’t act because we are afraid of failing
- Proposal
- Close a sale
- Advertise
- Fire someone
- Hire someone
