About this listen
Welcome back to the show! In today’s episode, I’m answering the question, “Where did the term ‘Trinity’ come from?” If you’re a new Christian or just not sure why this question would be posed, it’s because the term “Trinity” is not actually found in the Bible. In fact, that is a major contention of those who oppose the Trinitarian doctrine. My goal today is to share a little church history to help you understand how that term came to be used and adopted in Christian doctrine. If you’re a history buff like me today will be especially enjoyable. IF you aren’t, don’t worry! I’m just sharing a little of the global Church’s story and you’re invited to tune in. Are you ready? Let’s jump in.
Books/Resources Mentioned:
- Theology: The Basics by Alister McGrath
- Delighting in the Trinity by Michael Reeves
- Against Praxeas by Tertullian
