- Chiefs needed Denver Broncos, Cincinnati Bengals, and Tennessee Titans and KC had to beat the Jags to make the playoffs. Well, a miracle happened, and all three of those teams lost, and the Chiefs beat Jacksonville to clinch the last playoff seed in the AFC.
- Larry Johnson rushed for 138 yards with three touchdowns in the win.
- Bernard Pollard blocked and recovered a punt for a touchdown in the game.
