  • How To Weather The Storm
    Apr 28 2025

"It's a never ending challenge to stay in the right head and continue to believe that whatever is next is on its way. There are good things on their way to us, there are challenging things on their way to us. That's just the way it is. And it's not just us, it's anybody in life."

Today’s episode was ripped directly from one of our 10,000 NOs Working Actors Community weekly zooms where Matt addresses the challenges that face our members. Today, we discuss how the entertainment industry can make you feel small. Despite that feeling, you can take back your power by creating your own work. Matt uses the analogy of how "The casino is rigged; the house always wins; so you have to go build your own casino." Creating your own work subsequently allows you to be looser, and perform better in auditions, when you are pitching yourself to work on someone else's project.

10,000 NOs is here to inspire you and help you realize you are not alone if you’re battling to overcome rejection in your career or life.

    Apr 21 2025

"This business crushes you down so much that you think you can't get in the driver's seat. Oh, thank you so much for letting me hang on to your bumper! F that!"

  • Was it a Mistake? Or an Opportunity?
    Apr 14 2025

"It's always the things that everybody else thinks are mistakes that are actually advantages if we look at them that way."

Today’s episode was ripped directly from one of our 10,000 NOs Working Actors Community weekly zooms where Matt addresses the challenges that face our members. Today, we discuss how hardships can actually be an opportunity. If we get too fixated on our problems we can miss the opportunities right around us. Matt uses the acting example of Marlon Brando in On The Waterfront. In one particular scene, Eva Marie Saint's character drops her glove. Brando's character picks up the glove and put it on while sitting on the swing. This "mistake" ended up being a memorable moment that many believed symbolized the intimacy in the character's relationship. What one may view as a mistake, can actually be an advantage.

  • You're Great... And You Can Be Better!
    Mar 31 2025

"I think we need to do a better job of assessing our pros and cons. Sure, you have cons. Sure, maybe you were too big on that one tape. And you did this or that. But you're great also. You're great... and you can be better!"

    Mar 24 2025

"It used to be I'm good over here and I'm not telling you what I suck about because I don't want you to know that I suck-- Because I'm too embarrassed. And it's like, OK then you're going to keep sucking in a worse and worse way."

  • Michael Beach: There's No Such Thing As A Perfect Actor
    Mar 10 2025

“You can never be the perfect actor; it's never going to happen; but that is the search!"

Today’s episode is a sit down with Matt's fellow Mayor of Kingstown cast mate, Michael Beach. Michael can currently be seen on multiple shows in the Taylor Sheridan Universe (Tulsa King being the other hit from Paramount +) as well as The Perfect Couple on Netflix, opposite Nicole Kidman and Liev Schreiber. After listening to this conversation, where Matt and Michael delve into the nitty gritty of scene work, self-tapes versus being in the room, and the joys of being a journeyman actor after wracking up 206 credits on IMDb over 4 decades, you will understand how Michael’s talent, drive, passion for the craft, and overall positive approach to life and career has made him “that guy who’s everywhere”.
