２０１８年１２月８日未明、外国人労働者の受け入れ拡大に向けた改正出入国管理法（入管法）が可決、成立した。１９年４月から施行される。改正案の中核となるのが新たな在留資格「特定技能」の創設だ。従来は専門的・技術的分野に限定された就労目的の在留資格が、政府がかたくなに拒んできた単純労働の外国人を正面から受け入れることになる。
少子高齢化を背景に、日本は単純労働の外国人受け入れへと大転換し、事実上の移民解禁へ舵を切った日本。経済、社会への影響はどうなるのか。台湾、シンガポール、韓国、米国の姿とあわせ最前線の現状と問題点を追った。
