About this listen
Mrs. Barkley talked Zoe into traveling the Santa Fe Trail to tutor her children, but Zoe had no idea it would be such an adventure, that a handsome Army officer would provide an escort, or that she would take an instant dislike to him. However, between apologies, new friends, teaching, kidnappings, Indians, and Santa Fe itself, there’s plenty of excitement.

Clean Adventure and Romance
This is one of the books in this series that is my favorites. When her employer, Mrs Barkley, offers a trip to the southwest, Zoe sees this as her best option in her circumstances. It turns into the job of doing all the things Mrs. Barkley thinks herself above doing. Zoe finds the work hard and the travel harder until she begins to make friends and feels a closeness to the Barkley girls she is tutoring and caring for. Even the handsome Cavalry escort she cannot tolerate brings interesting things into her life. There is a lot of adventure in this book and never a dull moment. As always with Ms. Cole, all is sweet and clean.
The narration is well done and makes the characters and story easy to follow. I like the use of male and female narrators.

Zoe & Clay!
Zoe is beginning the adventure of her life. Traveling with the Barkley's across the country so she can tutor their girls is taking her to a new place. Having Clay, an Army Officer escort them sounds like a good plan, but immediately, they are at odds. But the wagon train is far from safe, and the two find themselves in situations that have them realizing there is more to their relationship than animosity. But Zoe never planned on falling in love or getting married. Teaching is her passion, and teachers are single. Danger, kidnapping, new experiences, racism and faith, Hopkins finds a way to meld it all together in a beautiful story. Clay and Zoe are quite the couple and you will want to get to know them!
Adam Skousen and Emma Faye narrate this gem and together they bring it all alive. From the danger to the romance, they find the essence of the characters. It's a wonderful listen and I look forward to more.

Believe
Listening to Zoe was a pleasure. Zoe is asked to watch and tutor a prominent family’s children on their journey along the Santa Fe Trail. Of course, it’s not an easy trip and Zoe has some trying times. Along the trail she meets Clay, a handsome Army soldier. He has to rescue her many times. Their friendship develops and they both wish for more. Follow them on their journey.
I was given a copy of this book by the author for an honest review.
